  5. Yes, have a very safe trip and enjoy the weather.
  6. Actually the stand was my idea. There is a slot for the upright to sit. Either on the stand as shown or hang on the wall.
  7. Thanks for all the nice comments.
  8. Those box cutters are dangerous.
  9. Thanks Frank.
  10. Thanks Jim. Sometime simple works.
  11. I was looking for something simple to complete this weekend. The pattern is by Jacob Fowler and found in CWWC September 2008. The upright is 1/2" Eastern Red Cedar and the base is 3/4" Walnut. I thought red would look good for the rooster. I used FD UR #1 and #5 blades. The finish is spray Shellac. Comments welcome.
  12. Maybe you remember my "Wedding Rings" with initials and year. Someone came into to store with a special request. They wanted a wedding gift, but the couple likes hockey. This is what I made. The pattern is by Steve Good, but rather than the team names, I added initials and year. The wood is 1/2" Hard Maple and 3/4" Poplar for the base. I used FD UR #1, #3, and #5 blades. The finish is spray Shellac. Comments welcome.

  20. Boy, I don't remember Dave. I do know it was in Canada. Sheila Landry recommended it quite some time ago. You might check her website.
  21. Very well done, DW. Nice clean lines.
  22. Congrats, Paul. We had our fiftieth last September.
  23. Good questions, Dave. When the project was complete, I immersed it in a sanding sealer, 50% Shellac and 50% Denatured Alcohol. After dried, buffed lightly with a Mac Mop, then sprayed with Shellac. If your question is where did I purchase the Mac Mop, Klingspors.
  24. Yes, Dave, but with a light sanding with the Mac Mop, nice and smooth.
