I finished this on Monday, July 4th. The pattern is by our own DonR and purchased from his website. The wood is 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood 10" x 12" and backed with a black mat. I used FD New Spiral #1. There is a large cutout in the center which made it very fragile, so I cut it last and replaced it while sanding. There is on coat of 50% BLO and two coats of spray Shellac. I framed it at ArtCrafters. Comments welcome.

What size baltic birch plywood if framing.

As a custom framer, 1/4" plywood is fine. Most rabbits are at least 3/8" deep. I use 1/8" for the backer and no glass. -
When you look at the example in the magazine, Paul used quarter sawn Sycamore. It looks like the grain is vertical. That must have been a wide board!

Thanks all for the nice comments. Dave, this project was dipped. I have an old 9" pie tin and it works great for projects like this one. Kevin, this project was 1/2" Ash, so fairly easy to cut.

Choice of blades as stated is a matter of preference. Try different blades and different manufacturers. You will soon find somethin you are comfortable with. One suggestion, do not by blades from a big box store.
