  1. Thanks for the comments. No accident, just hard to see with the length of the project.
  2. I like the red oak. It gives it a more weathered look. The frame really adds to the presentation.
  3. Both are beautiful. I use red oak a lot (Chipmunk) tough but looks great.
  4. Very well done. The projects are wonderful. I like Steve's patterns also.
  5. Very nice cutting. As a custom framer, the frame really adds to the presentation.
  6. That is sure a beautiful truck. Looks like it is ready for the road.
  7. LOL, Jay. It must be quite a site trying to turn the project while trying to stay on line.
  8. Wish I had a stack. Only two boards left.
  9. Thanks all for the nice comments.
  10. Thanks Jim. I don't think I will use Red Cedar for the Strawberry Candle Holder of Sheila Landry, maybe Cherry.
  11. This pattern by Keith Fenton was purchased from Sheila Landry's site. I used 1/2" Poplar and backed with 1/4"Baltic Birch plywood stained black with Samen stain. It measures approximately 4 1/2" x 16". I used FDUR #1 blade. With the length of this project, part of my anatomy got in the way. I should have used spirals. Comments welcome.
  12. Thanks DW. The red oak does have nice grain for this project.
  13. Very nice cutting. I too like the pickup. I am not into ghostly things.
  14. Thanks for all the comments.
  15. Roly, I prefer not to paint.
  16. Thanks for all the comments. I haven't seen chipmunks here in TN, but I know they are up in the hills. Back home in MN at the lake home, we had them all over the place. Almost a nuisance.
  17. Welcome to the forum from TN. I am one of those that make the miniature birdhouses. I also do intarsia, but not for several months. I like to do a little of everything. DeWalt is one of my saws, you will enjoy. As for sanding, we never have enough tools. My first purchase and still use it on every project is a Mac Mop used on a drill press.
  18. Strawberry Festival is three weeks away here in Dayton and I am donating this Strawberry Plaque to the Rhea County Hospital auction. I may also make a Strawberry Candle Holder. This is a Steve Good pattern. I used 1/2" Aromatic Red Cedar and backed with Baltic Birch plywood. I really like the natural color of the Red Cedar. Comments welcome.
  19. I actually started this last week, but when sanding the base It went flying never to be found. The pattern is by Jacob Fowler and found in CWWC April 2010. It is made from 1/2" Red Oak with a 3/4" Ash base. It measure approximately 7" high and 6" wide. I used FD New Spirals #1 for the interior cuts and FDUR #3 for the remaining cuts. Does anyone know if Jacob Fowler is still designing patterns? Comments welcome.
  20. That really came out great. The wood is perfect for that pattern.
  21. Well done on both. Can't decide which I like better.
  22. I missed this on first posting. That is beautiful, especially using the walnut backer.
  23. I saw that on the 'other' forum and liked it there as well. Great looking project.
  24. Very nice work and that is a lot of cutting. Is the 'Jesus Loves Me' your pattern?
  25. Now those are way cute. The finish is fantastic.
