    I use Olson's, mostly because that's what I can find around here. I really like the #5 reverse tooth for thinner stock and the #7 for thicker stuff. I know others like the #2 a lot for thin stock. I've tried the #2, but haven't done enough with it to feel comfortable using it yet.

    I bought one 10 or so years ago. Like everyone else, I have most of it left, and I don't know if it does any good or not. I don't every remember to use it, and it seems like the blade wears out at about the same rate anyways. I will say that I never had any issue with it staining the wood. So it's got that going for it.

    I brand mine with my brand. I know it's registered with the state for use on livestock and not my wood projects, but it gets the job done. I really don't do anything as small as ornaments, so I guess that isn't an issue for me. I used to try to fit it in on the front, but that usually was more hassle than it was worth and detracted from the cutting itself. So now I brand the back of everything.
