  11. Well, as I have explained over and over to my husband if you do Intarsia work, there is no "scraps" to get rid of. Often small pieces are all you need. That said, I have put many small pieces into the "burn bucket" kept in the shop - you eventually run out of room if you keep every scrap. However, if its beautiful hard and/or exotic wood used, its definitely kept, even those little pieces.
  12. Glad Rolf was able to point you to it. It is a favorite of mine of JGR's - as "Rocky Top" means a lot to this Vol fan (its our "fight song" ) and I love the cabins in East TN mountains that it is designed around. I have it in my huge JGR patterns "to do" someday - just haven't gotten around to it yet. Look forward to seeing your attempt.
  13. Another Tennessee welcome. I am married to the accomplished woodworker. He builds many things, mostly furniture pieces and started turning when he gets some time. I am more a scroller but he lets me have one corner of his shop for my scroll saw.
  14. Glad you guys got a chance to participate. Love learning things from those so highly skilled like Kathy.
  15. Another Tennessee welcome to the Village Jason. Looks like you are doing fine work with the saw you have. Thanks for showing. Look forward to your participation.
  16. Hi Tom and welcome to the Village from East Tennessee. Your father would be happy to know that you are going to put his saw to good work I am sure. Look forward to your participation.

  18. Another Tennessee welcome. Look forward to your participation. I also would like to know how you like the Glowforge. I looked at them when they were in the development and doing their kickstarter campaign.
  19. Yes, they would be protected images and can get you into a lot of legal issues IF caught and pursued. In this case, it is Disney’s and they pursue religiously to protect their stuff from all I hear and see. That said, it is very difficult I suspect for even large Companies like Disney to have to constantly have people looking everywhere for infringements like these. As soon as one is taken down, another one is popping up elsewhere no doubt. Whether an item is or is not infringing however would not be something we might be able to determine simply by looking at something online. You can obtain legal rights to produce images from a company and pay them royalties. Getting them however can be expensive. So, it is possible they it is a “licensed product.” If it is not, I suspect that Disney will quickly find them and shut it down given that they are clearly using the Disney name its self, Star Wars, and other wording that would clearly cause it to pretty easily pop up on Disney’s radar. if you are selling items that infringe on someone else’s copyright/trademark, and they choose to come after you for it, you could lose everything and in my opinion, is not something I would ever want to risk.
  20. Another Tennessee welcome. Glad you have joined the Village. Nice work on your first projects.
  21. Another Tennessee welcome. Glad you joined us. Look forward to seeing some of your work. Lucky for me, my hubby was already a wood worker with a lot of the toys, err tools including the table saw. When the table saw is needed, I let him do the cutting. I like my hands

  24. We use a oil filled radiator electric heater in the shop similar to this one. Works great, and cost little to operate. It is a supplemental heat source for he shop. DH also uses one in basement lawn mower room in winter to keep pipes there from freezing (happened once before he used one of these.) it is the only heat source in that area. We were familiar with as my mom used one in her garage in winter because her washer and dryer was in an Unheated garage. https://www.amazon.com/COSTWAY-Radiator-Portable-Adjustable-Thermostat/dp/B076JBWJ1M/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=Comfort+Zone®+Heater+Deluxe+Oil+Filled+Radiator&qid=1582146303&sr=8-9 Besides other concerns you raised in regards to using propane, you would also need to make sure it was vented with fresh air. I would not want to take risks presented by propane when there are other safer options like this.
