  1. I agree Charley, this is what I use. http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=strech+wrap
  2. Got down to 3* last night and at 7 AM it was 60* in the shop with two small heaters running. Warmer weather is coming tomorrow and I am ready.
  3. This is from the Judy & Dave Peterson book I bought. If you like to cut puzzles they have a lot of patterns you will like. This is made of red oak and cut with a number 7 blade. They recommend a number 7 or 9 blade. I have been cutting others with a number 3. The finish is Watco Danish oil. Thanks for looking.
  4. Dave I bought this mask and it filters down to 1.0 micron. As I understand it 1.0 micron is pretty good. Read about it and see what you think. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Silver-Comfy-Mask-by-Breathe-Healthy-For-Dust-Pollen-Allergy-Relief-/232146511014?hash=item360d02a4a6:g:nM4AAOSwNRdX7APN
  5. Len I did seal it with shellac. It was still a pain.
  6. Denny it was 10 this morning here in Murfreesboro. In the garage it was 62 with two heaters running. I keep my shop heated and cooled so I can enjoy myself when I want to.
  7. Tim any finish you use please try it on a scrap piece of MDF first. MDF is hard to finish the cut part will soak up stain or paint or what ever the finish is. This clock I made is MDF and I had a heck of a time finishing it. I won't be making anything else using MDF.
  8. Rusty you might just win. I sure hope so, be sure and let us know.
  9. Rusty you might like those Olson Mach Speed blades. Iggy got me to using them to cut puzzles. When I bought my scroll saw at our Woodcraft the only scroll saw blades they had was an assortment pack. I know that might not be the same for all stores.
  10. Stu have you thought about cutting the board down where you could work with it easier. Just cut a section out that you need for your scrolling. That would be two cuts. If you use a good table saw blade so there will be no chip out then you could rejoin it using a spline. When rejoined the grain would match almost perfectly and using a spline would make it strong. If you want more suggestions that you might not get here go to the link below and ask this question. It is the Router Forum and there are a lot of Canadians on that forum as well as some very good wood workers. I am not saying anything bad about the wood workers here but there is just more of them on that forum. http://www.routerforums.com/forum.php
  11. That would be nice to have Jim. You might be able to make some money with it this summer if you get to scrolling.
  12. Jim I haven't tried the new blades and I don't think I can afford to. When I got into scrolling I ask about blades and they said try them and see what you like. I took their advice and I have a boat load of Olson and Flying Dutchman blades. Both have blades I like and use but if I had to go with one manufacture I would go with FD. I know I didn't answer your question but I didn't have anything else to do.
  13. The saw must be in good condition because his shop is spotless. Wish mine was.
  14. Kevin you might be able to like Iggy and sell a lot of these puzzles. For folks that want to sell their wares Iggy is giving out a lot of information on how to do it.
  15. I have a mask but I forget to wear it. I will be scrolling and look up and see it hanging there. Must be old age.
  16. I agree Ed but the mask looks good.
  17. Great idea Jim and it makes life a whole lot easier.
  18. Thanks for the tip Bruce. I am doing better but I still fight to do it right.
  19. This is great Iggy. It looks as if everyone is a winner. We are saving money and you and Mr. Harvey are making money. I do hope you will have more of his patterns because there is some I like that aren't dogs. I am assuming what you have are the dogs I haven't looked at your web site since you posted this.
  20. I really like the owl also. The stuff you cut looks like it was done by a computer. All the cuts are so clean and no mistakes. Great work Denny.
  21. I want to make the stand up type puzzle. I just like doing that. It's Iggy's fault.
  22. John you know the rules!!! We got to have pictures.
  23. I have been looking for puzzle patterns for kids. Something that is popular today like Star Wars. I know Star War puzzles would be popular but that is about all. At 74 years old I just don't know what they like. I really don't under stand why companies like TWB aren't trying to draw these and sell them. I also think they would sell at craft shows.
  24. Me either.
  25. Bruce I wish my two grandsons would take even a little interest in wood working. Looks like yours are liking it pretty good.
