    Ultra reverse blades and others that are hard to tell which way is up have either a crimp or notch at the top.

    The bits will be numbered (possibly #62). I buy my drill bits and blades either from Artcraftersonline or Wooden Teddy Bear. Harbor freight also sells a pack that includes 1/8” down to some numbered tiny bits as well.

    Run your finger down the blade. It should glide down. No teeth grabbing you. I don’t look at it, I feel it.

    I set my saw speed at about 75%. More than halfway to max. Sometimes more, rarely less.

    @81Shaun Are you able to purchase The Scroll Saw Workbook? I recommend new scrollers to buy this workbook and do the exercises. I feel it is money well spent. When I was learning, there was no internet (GASP) I borrowed an old version of this book from the library. It is how I began.

    My local Office Max has a large scanner. I have gone there to have quite a few things copied. Thinking about having the inserts copied on to two sheets, one front side, the second back side. Then your can just cut them out! I never thought about it until now!

    I spoke to this person on Facebook. She said she has tried replacing these parts multiple times. THIS is why I sold my Excalibur and bought a Dewalt.

    An inexpensive and easy thing to try is replacing the set screw and thumb screw inside part. You can buy the refurbish kit from Seyco. Get a set for top and bottom. I think it was around $10 the last time I bought one.

    My 788 ain’t fancy. I can top or bottom feed. I can change the blade without tools or adapters. If I have major problems, I can replace it at a reasonable price. I had a chance to buy a Hawk for $600, I passed.

    I buy Danish oil. It comes natural, walnut, honey oak, Cherry..I use the different colors to tint my projects. I do know I could make it. I do not want the hassle. I don’t usually put poly on it although I know can put poly on it as a top coat after it sets for a few days.

    I have one, I bought the dust collection attachment. It works as a hand held model. It’s kind of fat for my hands.
