  1. Welcome to the Village. Lots of great people and information here. I'm a Hegner man myself. Wonderful saw.
  2. @kywoodmaster covered it pretty well. I really like them but probably only eat one once a year or so. Something I like to eat on the road on vacation or something.
  3. You don't see RC as often around here as you used to. Folks used to say "Let's get an RC and a Moon Pie!"
  4. Fun, useful project. I don't know if this is practiced world wide but here in Alabama it's common at a gathering to put your name on a plastic cup with a Sharpie so you can keep up with which cup is yours. Toby Keith has a song about it, "Red Solo Cup." My family usually makes up names. We're headed on a family vacation next week and my wife requested I make one of these. I added the text which is a line from the song. We don't usually have anything stronger than Dr. Pepper in ours.
  5. Yeah, it's big and all, but I'm more interested in that silver manhole cover with the ship on it! Nice job.
  6. Wonderful job! I've had that trouble with cedar also. And I'm apparently very sensitive to the dust as I've gotten sick a couple of times after cutting it, so I'm through cutting cedar. Great looking project and I know she'll love it.
  7. Looks great! Nice colors too. That will make someone happy.
  8. Great job. My oldest grandson is 7 and we are very close. I hope we're still taking trips together when he's in his 20's.
  9. Nice job on an interesting piece. I imagine my guardian angel looks like that most days too. I've had my share of frustration with stubborn spots like that. I usually make them worse the more I try to fix them.
  10. Great job on all of those! I do NOT have the skills to paint like that.
  11. Great job. I love when my daughters work with me on crafts.
  12. Beautiful pieces!
  13. Beautiful job and clean cutting!
  14. Great looking stuff Danny! Congrats and glad you had fun. One great thing about this hobby. We all get filthy rich!!!
  15. That's very touching, Dick. Great idea and you did it beautifully. My wife loves it too. She and I celebrated 38 years together this year. Happy Anniversary!!!
  16. I designed and cut this trivet for my wife's aunt who has cancer that will likely be terminal. I love this comforting verse from an old hymn, He Leadeth Me. I've probably sung it 1,000 times but only a couple of years ago recognized that this verse is referring to the 23rd Psalm. It's about 8" and cut in red oak.
  17. Great looking ornaments! My neck would never hold up to this much cutting in a day.
  18. Great job again! I like it both ways.
  19. Nice job! Glad you're getting to see them more.
  20. Great cutting!
  21. My family and I are big Atlanta Braves fans. Especially my 7 year old grandson Ryder, and his favorite player is Freddie Freeman. I cut this for his Baseball wall. 11X14 in 3/8 red oak.
  22. I like it! And I like @RabidAlien's idea about the rough wood frame. If you can find some that still has the saw mill marks and maybe a rust stained nail hole or two that would look great. I've also used horseshoe nails on a frame for a horse cutting. Of course what looks great to me looks lousy to the next person.
  23. Wow! That looks great!
  24. I wouldn't really know either. I worked on a farm through high school and college and we had a couple of Internationals and a Ford. I probably wouldn't remember how to crank one anymore.
  25. Thank you. It was pretty sturdy actually. I tied a couple of areas together that the pattern didn't have, to add some strength. I also add some width to the narrower places when I'm not comfortable with it. The biggest thing is planning order of the cuts. For example on the right side you mentioned I cut all the inside cuts on the hair and beads, then cut around the outside, cutting the extreme right edge last so nothing is overly fragile until after it's cut. If that makes sense. I'm not always the best at getting my thoughts from my brain to the keyboard.
