  1. @Denny KnappenI was going to order two, but one works for now and they arrived yesterday. fit as snug as a bug in a rug! couldn't be happier and thank you Mr. Denny.
  2. well @Denny Knappen, I ordered some Pegas Chuck heads Friday and you got them in the mail Saturday. Cant wait for them! Thank you.
  3. I just ordered a set for a dewalt 788. would have ordered two, but only one available. maybe later down the road.
  4. I bought one last year made in 99 and tore it apart to lube it. It still is running as strong as an ox. Only thing is after the lube, some of my work had grease on it. I must have put too much on. For being 20 years old, the bearings in mine looked brand new. overall, it is a great machine and if you take care of it, it will run forever. That is why I looked for an older one myself.
  5. I was thinking the same thing, but some interests never die. Might have to revisit this post in another two years?
  6. @meflick, I can understand your predicament with that type 1 Dewalt. I wanted a type one and had to search high and low for one. I like them because the motor is made in Canada and trust that more. If you ever decide on getting rid of your Type 1 Dewalt, let me know please. I only have two saws, the dewalt and a 1990 Craftsman 13 in that was given to me. that is what started my scrolling hobby.

  8. The closet place for me is about an hour away for any type of decent wood. If I want scrolling wood that isn't run of the mill like Zebra wood, I use Ocooch Hard woods as they are the closets to the east coast. Prices are not that bad and it is quality wood.
  9. Like everyone said, pictures help. On the flip side, I have a Craftsman 13 inch and for three months, couldn't find the data plate. Just as I bought a new saw (new to me) and finally found the data plate on the bottom of the table. that might help you some in getting some info on it.
  10. I used to be around them when I was younger. Had to open a window just to use them. almost defeated the purpose. Back to the gas, prior to using, just for seperation. If you put bad gas in it, It will run bad for a while after the bad gas leaves the tank.
  11. Amazing! very well done and thought out!
  12. Hi Dan, Welcome to SSV! like you, I started with a cheap old hand me down scroll saw. In a year, this site has taught me so much and pushed my comfort zone to a point where I am confident in a lot of scrolling. No just with a scroll saw either, I have learned with a jig saw for the bigger projects. You have a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips now! Hope to you here frequently and a lot.

    Mr

you will like it here as there is so much knowledge available. This place has cut my learning curve to where after a year, I am making things that I never thought I would try. Welcome again!
  14. I hope one day to have a system like this, and the space for it.
  15. glad he is doing good. Please tell him se gua su sa ooo (take it easy). I might be able to say it, but spelling it is another thing.
  16. Excellent job Denny. I should probably start doing them. I am retired Air Force and work with all retired Or still in.

    I am back

Welcome back to the Village. I started about a year ago and do believe that this place has made me a much better scroller. Glad your back.
  18. Couldn’t help it when I saw this challenge. Just completed a miter saw stand this weekend. Been in my work shop for about three months now. I love having it!
  19. Welcome to the village! I see you also have a king kong miter saw in Dewalt. I love mine. Chews up wood, logs and maybe small children. Glad your getting back to scrolling. I started about a year ago and it has been amazing! Ask away with questions. I am sure I dont know the answer, but someone here will.
  20. This is a loaded question as I am sure there will be a different answer from every person. Me personally, I am still in love with my Dewalt 788 Type 1, but that is me.
  21. Sorry to read about your wife as it is a bad disease. Congrats on the saw though! Another option instead of waxing the table is pledge spray. That works well too.
  22. Well done! you sure made some dust today! keep this up and you too could potentially be like @amazingkevin and cut down a forest in a morning at this rate!.
  23. The military members are great as when we forget about those who sacrificed, we are in trouble!
  24. Glad it worked out for you. Next higher assembly sometime is a great thing.
  25. The base isn’t cast iron like the top, but it is metal. In fact, I used it today. Hate that you will have to put a tarp on it, but understand doing what you have to do.
