  5. ok here are some things iv been working on and finished today, the first one is steve goods raiser holder.. I made several of these I use the woodflooring to make these as they wont warp in a steamy bathroom and are water proff… I did some with the design from the original pattern on the side and then I made some with an angle on the side. im not totally happy about the edges but couldn't think of any way to make them look better... the last onces are of the bulldog toothpicks. I made 2 of them one for me and one for my oldest daughter for Christmas...but I didn't paint it the brile color of her bulldog moose...because I didn't think I could make it look right...lol I took several pictures at different angles...the one with the plan purple collar is for my daughter and the one with the spikes on it is mine but I think I got a little carried away with the spikes lol it didn't look like that many when they were just holes!! lol oh well I will know better next time..and the reason I painted the collars purple is because purple is my oldest daughters favorit color...lol I chew on nicoteen toothpicks to help me cut down on my smoking so I used the old toothpicks to make the spikes...they were not easy to get about the right size and glueing them into to holes was not a whole lot of fun either but I don't think they look to bad here
  6. love it!! my oldest daughter is in love with the Harry Potter stuff, so for Christmas this year I crocheted her a harry potter sorting hat.. she loved it!!
  7. yes I agree...funny thing about me and spike...im bairly 5 foot 1 and now that hes shrunk an inch hes 6 foot 4 !!!! lol now he of course sets up all my tools for me.....making benches and such and he usuly finds that after I go out the first to see how hes got it set up....he looks at me and says hum gonna have to lower it more!! lol When he got me the tablesaw he bought a table saw stand for it but wound up making a table to put it on because after we put the saw on it it wasn't at what he felt was a comfortable hight for me, I said it was fine but noo then he decided it still had to be lowered a bit more for safty measures!! lol He seldom uses my tools but when he does im sure its a bit annoying for him!! lol When he first moved in with me after about a week in a half I knew we had to sit down and have a little talk!! every thing I use had to be at MY arms reach!! lol which is about everything lol so we compermised things I use all the time at my arms reach, everything else I don't care as long as he will get it for me....lol that lasted a short time before he got me a step stool lol he asked me what I did before he came , simple I never put anything on the upper shelves!! lol

Iv had back aces in the past most of my jobs required heavy lifting but after I got on disability the pain just sort of left....but this kind of back pain oh my!!! He got me another bar stool to use in the kitchen so now I can do the dishes lol what a sweet man he is !!! lol

  21. defentlly a nice job!!
  22. hum iv never had any problumes with the spiral blades...you have to go a bit slower because if you go to fast and the blade wavers off the line your wood gets cut because all sides of the spiral are cutting edges... unlike with just the normal blades. I like the spirals as it makes it easer for me to cut some things...espicaly the larger projects that I have trouble turning. but I have to remember to go slower...when I first started using them I would get some parts cut where I ddnt want it cut but like they say practice makes perfect...now when Im cutting with the spirals I remind myself constently that the blade cuts on all sides!! I just hate it when I forget that and end up making a cut where there isn't suppose to be a cut....then you have to look at the project and see what you can do to mask the mastake, make it part of the project so no one knows you made a mastake or make something different then what you started out to make... and if worse comes to worse I just salvage what pieces of wood I can still use to make small projects and toss the rest...….if it dosnt rain tomarrow im going to go out back and look at all those twigs and tree brances we have in a huge pile in the back yard and see what I might be able to u se to make someing….I mean you cant just let all that good wood go to waist!! I do have a few ideas.... like making perches for the really small layered birds I make....and maybe I can incorporate some into fret or layered patterns or something... i'll just have to keep thiking on it but oh!! if any of you hve any suggestions as to things to do with the twigs and branches im always willing to listen lol and now my show is almost over so id best get off here and try to get something done today lol
  23. well that clears things up octoolguy… I do believe have mentioned I am not the sharpest tool in the box!!! lol add to that insomnia and trying to do several things at a time....well some people call me a digbat!! lol which is ok by me as im having a ball and enjoying myself now that I can. lol like I said it drives spike poor man that he is right up the wall!! lol when I asked him if we might be able to get the sandblaster up and working this year he said I THOUGHT you were doing woodwork? lol and I havnt told him im going to h ave to bring the sewing machine out soon to sew together the patterns I have cut out and pined together lol and thanks everybody for the information.... im pretty sure how to cut it now after I get done with the stuff im doing right now….like I said I don't know where the pattern came from....it could be just a picture I took out of a book for all I remember.... and yes I get a lot of my patterns that way...hey when you cant draw you have to adapt and find pictures you can use as patterns.
  24. lol well my computer SAYS i have an answer here from octoolguy but no matter how often i leave and come back theres no other message here but my own!! lol so octoolguy if you see this please know i am not just not answering you back or saying thank you because the post at least on my computer isn't here!! lol and think years ago when computers first came out they all said how much easer our lives would be lol
  25. ok I don't know where or when I got this pattern, but as I said until recently I hadn't got into the woodshop for almost 2 years....and my memory isn't the greatest. now I THINK I know how to cut this but just to be on the safe side and so as not to waist any wood, when I put this on the wood I cut out the lines right ? and the parts that have the x marked are places where I cut all the wood away. no rush with this because even though I have the small blades now I still have to get some really small drill bits...thanks !!
