Instead of a larger saw for large cuts I bought a work table from the orange store that raises and lowers. It is on casters so I just roll it over to the saw and level it with the saws table, works great.
Finished these two yesterday. I did the Statue of Liberty out of 1/4 BB with a painted 1/8 BB backer. The frame I made from a old barn wood plank that was given to me. The skull is aspen with a oak ring and oak feathers. Any suggestions always welcome, I keep trying to improve!
I bought some foam insulation and placed them around and over my window in the garage. I use different size cardboard boxes to catch most of the over-spray and my fan sends the fumes out the window. I need to upgrade to a explosion proof fan as this one worry's me when it comes to fumes being ignited. I also open the garage door a little to provide a little fresh air.
I had a issue similar to this a few years back. My Dad's old heavy tools needed to come from Maine to here in Montana. I called a moving company (Allied I think) and they placed it on a truck heading here. It took longer but it was a quarter of the price. I met the truck at a stop on I90 near here and brought the tools home.
Welcome from Montana, I have the same issue in the winter, do I let the warmth out or keep the fumes? I need to build a box with a fan and small pipe but I will forget as soon as it warms up here
Hi dakota I just used a piece of 1/4 in BB, measured and used my table saw blade to make 1/8 deep by saw kerf wide cuts. I used alternating stain of walnut and (maybe oak) and a dark stain in the cuts. Hope I made sense
I started this lighted wolf before Christmas and finally finished it. All done with 1/4BB, frame from alder. Pattern fromScroller patterns, lights from Ace hardware.
My birthday present from the wife, spent the weekend setting it up. Hardest part was putting the stand together. It really does cut sweet! The wife asked if this makes me a big boy now
