  1. Very nice cut, looks a lot better than my first project!
  2. Made these for my wife's birthday. The basket is a Sheila Landry pattern done from aspen and some mystery wood I had. The Jerry Garcia is a Botas pattern and was cut from soft gum maple, the frame I made from zebra wood.
  3. Welcome
  4. Looks great and I think the hinges are a good idea. My personal preference would have been to use a dark royal blue felt.
  5. Looks just like him, well cut.
  6. I like that a lot,
  7. I think you have done a splendid job, pat yourself on the back.
  8. What a interesting idea!
  9. Very crisp cutting!
  10. Nice cutting!
  11. Welcome, lots of good people here with great advice.
  12. Amazing work and I love the wood colors! Maybe someday if I can get my intarsia skills that good I would love to do that cardinal.
  13. Nice!
  14. Wife wanted something to hang a calendar with. I had a Montana stencil so I glued up some scrap walnut, cherry and paduck, planed it down, did some inlay and then cut it out on my saw. Was a nice break from other projects.
  15. I was " Scroll curious" when I got into scrolling. I found a Dewalt with all the accessories on Craig's list for $300. The seller even had the boxes and owners manual and it was like new. I have been able to try all forms of scrolling with this saw and I will never advance to where I need anything more advanced. Maybe. Shop around and you will come up with something that will get you started.
  16. Those are nice, I need to make one to hang outside my door.
  17. Ray, I thought everyone was leaving California for Texas
  18. Great idea and nice looking.
  19. That ought to earn you a several course meal! It looks great!
  20. The jellyfish is my favorite because of the colors you used and I love the way you have framed all the work, it really makes it standout.
  21. It does get hot here in Montana on occasion. Last year I added extra insulation in the roof over my shop and as long as I keep my doors closed it stays comfortable even on the days in the mid 90's. What is worse here is when fire season ramps up and there are days that even in the shop with doors closed you are still breathing smoke.
  22. Really sweet. Looks like a lot of detailed cutting!
  23. Very nice, the colors go together well. I have had the same problem learning to do intarsia. I cut out all my pieces and then tried to make them fit. I tried Dan's method and it works much better for me.
  24. Nice wood colors, looks good.
  25. How fun, I remember the Alfa, had a girl friend who had one. Probably lost her because I could not keep that finicky thing running.
