  1. That is pretty nice. The lines on pistons and the slight flare on back fender are great touches.
  2. okay which one was the most challenging?
  3. Hah, cutting out on a limb.
  4. I have my eye on this one. https://www.lisaboyer.com/Claytonsite/elfinopage.htm I have to finish my intarsia project first. My first intarsia project ever. Another problem with kinetic scultures is pet cats. Four of them.
  5. cool. The thickness difference is a nice touch.
  6. Put a box out having a sign saying take one. Extra bonus is added to the sign please donate.
  7. I thought wood putty was good for chicken pox. Or you could just cover it up with a covid mask.
  8. i just scanned Clayton Boyle's web site. In his Q&A page there is a section about one's self frustration tolerance level "frustration quotient". If yours is way above average then you can try a clock design. If your quotion is avg to above avg then you should only think about getting a clock design. The whole q&a is also good reading. But the Puffer steam train machine looks fun. A battery overcomes some frustration of friction and humidity. Thanks Scappile for posting Clayton Boyles link.
  9. nice. I definity see how the tail pattern looks like the tail is behind the legs and body. Since the legs have feathers like boots. It could be easily merged into the tail feathers. But it was done well. Great job on good cutting on a good pattern.
  10. i recognize that transistor radio. Mon and Dad gave that to me for christmas present. Maybe in 1971. Does the hammer say I like building memories with you? I can barely read it. ? Very cool shop walls. You do very good with portrait scrolling.
  11. Thinking is good ... in this case.
  12. I was expecting Mr. Ed. Great job.
  13. I am a newbie. Did you start with the eyes or the mouth? Both look a bit delicate.
  14. did you keep the cutouts so you can glue ants to other stuff?
  15. I only see one ant carrying something. The bottom ant.
  16. I can actually read small text on ammo box. Pretty darn good.
  17. Since I am a newbie. I have only printed 2 svg files that I created. I have never downloaded a pattern, I can only relate to what I know. I have printed my own created svg. But only black lines on white paper. No grey fills on red line. But this topic showed me to try to tweak my svg files to suit my eyes. I am playing with inkscape for the first time this weekend. I'm creating a file from my own sketch. Now I will play with colored lines. And filling areas. Thank you for enlightening me. I was relating to my experience with red / black which is only on computer screen text. If I download a pattern with red lines, I would need to change the red to something else.
  18. I just wanted to share that I used FD blade called aluminum cutter #7. I have a portor cable saw. I had a weak table insert that flexes alot. So I read that I should make an aluminum 1/8" insert to replace the cheap plastic. So I scroll sawed it. The pic is not very good. It shows the the aluminum table insert installed. The black plastic is on the left. So that is my advertisement for FD blades.
  19. interesting answers. My eyes dont see red text on black backgound. Or the other way around. Red fuzzes out and I cant read the text. I like to see green text. I have only scrolled with is black lines. With this topic I will try my preferred flourecent green or purple. Thanks for bringing up this topic. Remember the movie andromeda strain. one character got headaches with red on black. That is not me.
  20. The bee is eye catching. Just drip some honey on it and it will look sweeter. Beautiful work.
  21. I guess ocguy need to make a picture. Sorry. This just popped in my head.
  22. Back when I was young, pictures cost alot of money in a magazine. I can make a sketch if you need. Also the "fakes news" was not invented yet. But I guess this guy Clair, had a lot of vibration. So to stabilize his piece from motor vibration he built a table just above the the scroll saw. Pretty good idea. He gets to feel the cuts being made.
  23. Here is article I found that mentions floating table for scroll saws. https://www.woodworkersjournal.com/clair-bossum-fretting-intarsia/
