  1. Ron, I have a question for you. You say the new one is no comparsion to the old Craftsman, did you mean the Rikon is better or worse than the Craftsman? Jerry
  2. Here lately I have seen quite a few posts of scrollers not happy with the result. I don't know about you, but I wish I could cut wood like most or you do. I wold be estatic if I could cut that well. Jerry
  3. The Covette club should be very pleased. Jerry
  4. Dick, I was just trying to be funny. When I was in school, I was the class clown. Now at 83 I am trying to be the SSV clown. Maybe I'm pushing it too far. At any rate I see your artistic talents. Again, just trying to put a little humor into the conversation. Jerry
  5. Dick, like everyone, it is beautiful. My question to you is, "How do you cut the paper?". Is it special paper or really thick? Paper is so flimsy. Jerry
  6. My son is a perfectionist and worries himself sick because he sees an error. Sometimes takes hm weeks to get over it. Only thing is, no one else ever sees it. He sometimes thinks he needs another one of himself. I tell him no,no,no, you will just double your worries. He is not a scroller, but he expects perfection in his product. Jerry
  7. Another welcome from Colorado. You will be surprised the amount of help you will receive from the folks here. Like you, I too had a scroll saw for years and would use it occasionally. Not until I retired did it spend time really learning this craft. Still learning. Jerry
  8. Don, on one word comes to mind- WOW Jerry
  9. Boy Frank, I wish I was one of your neighbors. You would get tired of me looking over your shoulder to see how you do things and to learn. I could learn a lot. And then to receive a cookie tray. I love cookies. Jerry
  10. Is there a pattern somewhere for this flag stand. Jerry
  11. Ron, After seeing some of your cars from toymakingplans.com I decided I wanted to give it a try and ordered some cars. I am anxious to give it a try. After viewing the plans I don't think they will be too difficult but quite detailed. Have to finish current projects and get ready for the upsoming holdidays. Thanks for your posts and giving those of us who have been stuck in a rut to try something new. Thanks Ron, Jerry
  12. The texturing makes the beaver look alive. Very nice. That Dremel tool comes in handy for a lot of things. Very nice Dick, very nice. Jerry
  13. Bernd, I'm wondering where you got the pattern for the B-24. The airplane I flew in the 60's was not a glamorus aircraft, in fact quite ugly. It was a C-124, cargo aircraft. but we could carry items no other airplane at the time could carry. I have been looking for a pattern but have had no luck. Perhaps where you got this pattern may have one for the C-124. Thanks, Jerry
  14. Tyler, I'm always amazed watching your videos. I usually leave with a new tip; this one was drilling a hole in the tab for hanging to dry. Thanks for the tip. This video was almost like watching the birth of a horse. Thanks for the video. Your videos are short, entertaining, and very informative. One doesn't have to wait a long time to see the end result and the finished product. So many videos out there are so boring. Again, Thank You Tyler. Jerry
  15. James, you are not crazy. I bought my Pegas almost 2 years ago, had a 1997 RBI which was just fine. I didn't need a new one, just wanted one. I enjoy by saw and and know you will be happy with your Hegner. Congratulations. Jerry
  16. Funny you should mention the accordian Ray. I always wanted to play the accordion. When I was 16 after 8 years of piano lessons my parents finally aggreed. I got quite good, played in an accordion band and also played in a trio with two other accordion players. Won a couple of prizes and would travel with the accordion band to other states for accordion contests. Accordions were quite popular in the 50's and 60's. I don't have any regrets in life, but do have a couple of wishes one of which was I would have kept my accordion. Wanted to buy one after I got married but my wife wouldn't let me, she hated the accordion. Jerry
  17. I understand your practicing. Very boring. Reminds when I took piano lessons. Practice, practice, practice- hated it. If I could play something I recognized would make it fun. Took piano lessons for eight years and hated every minute of it. As far as your cut for something real and so see some results. Looks Great. By the way, Welcome to the club. You will get lots of help here. Jerry
  18. The people here can and will really help you. You will enjoy. Jerry Walters from Colorado
  19. Every time you post what you have done you NAIL it. I'm very envious of your work. Jerry
  20. I was a navigator in the Air Force, so time wass very important to me. Have several clocks, wrist watches, pocket watches, plus cell phone, and Tv's that all have the time. Of course, they are all don't show the same time, but it's close enough for me. Wasn't true as a navigator, the Air Force was pretty sticky about time. Some people might have a fetish for clocks. The only place I don't have a clock is in my shop. I have always wanted to try one of these patterns, but afraid I would run out of TME before I finished it. Jerry
  21. That is a very nice project, Dick. Would look very nice on my wall. My brother-in-law lives in Scottsdale. Tells me it doesn't really get hot there until the temperature is above 105. Is that true. I live in Colorado and has been very nice here. The last couple of days in the upper 70's and low 80's. Right now, 87 here, very nice. Hang tight, should start cooling down sometime around Christmas.
  22. What a cool idea to help someone reduce or stop smoking. I tried many times to reduce or stop. Even tried hypnotizing, which didn't work. Finally went cold turkey. Was tough but made it. That was over 20 years ago. Don't remember the exact because I tried so many times. Best of luck to your friend. Your craftsmanship really shows in this project. I hope your friend knows what a good friend he has in you. I salute you. Jerry
  23. It's beautiful Frank. It is amazing what you do with wood. Jerry
