  1. Welcome from Colorado. You will find the folks here very helpful. Scrolling and this web site can both be very addictive. Jerry
  2. Really like the fish. Where did you find the pattern? Jerry
  3. Very cool Dan. When I was confirmed in the church our class song was "His Eye is on the Sparrow". I know His eye is on you for doing this. Jerry
  4. I love that song. One of my favorites. Jerry
  5. Well, I learn more here than just scrolling. Today, thanks this post, I found out what a charcuterie board is. This farm boy keep learning. Jerry
  6. Welcome aboard from Colorado. Your students are very lucky to be working on Hegner saws. My understanding is that is that they are the RollsRoyce of scroll saws. You and your students will gain a lot from the folks here. Jerry
  7. You've been busy Ralph. Been sidetracked for a couple of days and pretty busy the rest of the week. Will try to do what you did. I also had found one of Tyler's earlier videos and he said in the video he would have to add an extra space or manually draw to extend the pattern. Jerry
  8. You are right Ralph. Must have been looking at it with my bad eye. I think Tyler needs to explain it to us. Jerry
  9. Hey Ralph, I think I figured it out. Tested with my name. Made one with my last name according to Steve's instructions, then made one with my first name. I think his program letters and the space take up the same amout of space. Luckily for me my last name has 7 characters and first name has 5, so worked out pretty easy. Will test tomorrow with maybe an odd number of characters and an even number of characters. Maybe add some special characters to even it out. On your example I think if you put an extra space before and after your first name. Tested it out, works perfect.
  10. your first attempt looks great. I for one am not going to attempt this art form, but I think it adds a lot to scroll saw work. Speaking of work, to me epoxy looks like a lot of work. Jerry
  11. Very nice, would have liked something like this when he was a little boy. Just finished his freshman year in college. I like how you have the bigger pieces are to be placed on the board. looks like the smaller pieces are attached to the board to prevent chocking. Nicely done. Jerry
  12. Tyler, again I am amazed how fast you do you cutting. Takes my much longer, but like you, I usually like the finished project. One thing, maybe a short video how you created the compound cut using Steve's program. I think I have an idea how you did it, but not certain. I always learn something from your explanation. Thank You, Jerry
  13. Well done Dick. Nice cutting and finishing. I am continually amazed how fast all of you complete a project. It would take me at least a week to do what you did in a couple of days. If you weren't the chief cook and bottle washer you would have finished to complete project in one day. Like I said, nicely done. Jerry
  14. Nice job Dick, even with the photo. I think we tend to forget that these simple patterns can give us a lot of joy when giving them to kids. Your great grandson will get many hours of playing and imagination. Jerry
  15. I will hope for good weather for you and that you do well at the craft fair. My wife and I used to love to go to craft fair.. Jerry
  16. I had cataract surgery last year. Really helped. I don't know how you did this, but great cutting. Wish I could tell you what to do about the arthritis, I'm beginning to feel some of its effects. I think being able to make sawdust keeps us going. Jerry
  17. I did that. The guy in the mirror is the same age. Jerry
  18. Got you beat Gene, but not by much. Jerry
  19. Friends have asked me about Flea Markets and craft fairs. I tell them I worked for almost 60 years and now am retired. I don't care to have another job. I enjoy scrolling and make things for family, friends and myself. I get a lot of satisfaction giving stuff away. Jerry
  20. Here's to a speedy recovery Rodney and return to scrolling. I always enjoy seeing your work, Jerry
  21. Fibber MaGee and Molly. Boy, that takes you back Denny. Wonder if our younger people are familiar with them. Jerry
  22. Hey Ralph, since Ron Johnson was able to pass the pattern forward to you, can you do the same for me? I really like it. Jerryh
  23. Kevin, since you purchased so many roman numeral clocks are you going to some of them up for sale? Just wondering. Jerry
  24. I'm happy SSV is not going away. Since I'm fairly new I was getting scared you were leaving. Now I can rest easy. I have learned sooooo much. Jerry
