Hey Marge.... THAT PICTURE SHOWING WHAT I WOULD CALL A "GINGERBREAD MAN"
HOLDING THE CHIP BAG CLOSED LOOKS LIKE A....GREAT ADVERTISING WAY
LOOKS....EYE CATCHING....
Wonder if the SMITH CHIPS would go for putting a smaller one in each bag?
Like Cracker Jacks. Free prize in every box.
They look Great...............Been meaning to cut some for us. Danny :+}
Thanks to Everyone for their Kind Comments. Always is a Inspiration to me.
Yes I always stack cut 1/4" When I use 1/8" I feel most comfortable stacking FOUR.
Later I will cut 1/8 or 1/4 backers just a tad bigger than the cross.
Contrasting wood colors.
Thanks for Looking..............Danny :+}
ALL YOU PICTURES MADE ME FEEL LIKE SAYING WOW! .... SO CLEAN LOOKING AND SO PERFECTLY CUT.
IS THERE A WAY I COULD LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS ART?
THANKS.... Danny :+}
As some of you know I do one Craft Show each year in November. Always like to have a few Different Looks.
This year besides a couple different Ornaments I decided to start a line of different words included in these
type of crosses.
Not sure who the Designer is. Want to send Thanks to Keith for helping me learn how to use Inkscape to
put the words in.
So far I only have these three. No finish.... Later when Mother Nature lets me get out more.
Thanks for viewing .... Danny :+}
Grampa Jim....You convinced me pretty much about TOP FEEDING. Me also run into Portraits or other that has a zillion holes
and I find it difficult sometimes to find that hole to feed the blade FROM THE BOTTOM....
WANT TO SINCERELY THANK ..EVERYONE.. FOR THEIR COMMENTS. Yes....Love our Scrolling Family.
NOW TO DECIDE ON THAT....RANDY.... MENTIONED.....OR..... Is there others that are fairly easy to SECURE the blade on the BOTTOM?
Thanks.... Danny :+}
Just LOVE being a part of this Scrolling Family.... Actually I have been Scrolling for lots of years. Starting with LOWES
Cheap models and working up to the saw I use now....HEGNER 18" Great saw. Just started thinking about TOP FEEDING
as compared to the ONLY WAY I KNOW ..bottom feeding..
So the saw I have been looking at is Delta 40-694 Heavy-Duty 20" Variable-Speed Scroll Saw NEWNeed to INVESTIGATE the Pros to the Cons before deciding to buy. DON'T EVEN KNOW IF THIS ONE IS..GREAT.. WITH TOP FEEDING??
Thanks for all your Advice and Help.... Danny :+}
HI EVERYONE.... I JUST DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT FEEDING THE BLADE THRU THE TOP.
SEEMS WOULD BE HARD TO CONNECT THE BOTTOM OF THE BLADE TO THE HOLDER ALL THE TIME?
I AM INTO A POSITION OF WANTING ANOTHER SAW. WHAT IS THE PROS AND CONS OF THIS PLEASE. ??
THANKS FOR ANY INFORMATION ON THIS SUBJECT. Danny :+}
Just have to say again that I HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE COMPOUND PATTERNS BE CUT USING
DIFFERENT SPECIES OF WOOD GLUED TOGETHER. Again I say LOOKS GREAT and Well Cut. Danny :+}
I JUST ....LOVE.... BEING A PART OF THIS SCROLLING FAMILY. Wow! You all are just the Greatest.... :+}
I DO NOW KNOW WHERE I GOT MY ORIGINAL PATTERNS. WAS Rick Longbaugh.... Had that FILE DOWNLOADED for AGES
and needed space, so NO I REMEMBER.... I let it go via delete. Cry. Cry.... I shall prevale soon.............Thanks Danny :+}
Hello Everyone....
I cut these lil guys maybe FIVE years back. Remembered they were a hit at that show.
Really want to cut them again for my next one....BUT.... sadly to say I just LOST the patterns.
Does anyone recognize this? If so I would just LOVE TO know where to obtain these patterns.
My BIG Thanks to all.... Danny :+}
When buying a pattern from designers they add a dotted line for cutting a under size backer. I use 1/8" BB. I use a Black dye
for painting the backer Black or some even colors. Make sure I stay at least 1/8" inside the over all size of the backer board.
I also have and always will stick to Aleen's Tacky Glue. Like Dan mentioned....Works Great on Everything. Danny :+}
Just have to reply....Have tried many methods. All boiled down to using the 3m-77 spray glue. Normal spray. Once over.
Apply to Bare wood. No tape etc. Holds excellent till that final cut. Then spray a bit of Mineral Spirits Might have to wait
for a minute and the pattern lifts off in one piece. Clean wood with a bit more spitits on a rag and let dry for a hour. Ready to go.
And this is only my 2 cents worth. Danny :+}
Wonderful looking lil puzzles. I really got into designing and cutting when I started scrolling. Thought they would sell
Good at my Shows. Wasn't true. Still have a full paper box of them. All in their own frames etc. Oh well yours look Great.... Danny :+}
I JUST LOV BEING A PART OF OUR SCROLLING FAMILY HERE. LEARNED SEVERAL TIPS I HAD NEVER THOUGHT OF.
KARL THANKS FOR YOURS AS I CAN SEE THIS BEING OVER ALL MY ANSWER TO THIS SITUATION OF HANGING THINGS.
I HAVE THESE "D"-HANGERS. BEEN IN THE DRAWER FOR YEARS. LOL
THANKS TO ALL.... Danny :+}
SAW TOOTH HANGERS ARE MY NORMAL ON MOST PORTRAITS ETC.
THE BACKER (1/8") DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH ROOM FOR LITTLE NAILS OR LITTLE SCREWS.
DON HOW DO YOU SECURE YOUR SAWTOOTHS?
JERRY............YOUR WAY EXCITES ME. CAN SEE HOW THIS WOULD WORK GREAT.
NEED TO DO SOME EXPERIMENTING ON FUTURE PLAQUES.
THANKS TO BOTH....................Danny :+}
This year for my Annual Craft Show I have cut 2 dozen Beautiful Word Art Plaques as I call them.
All are cut from 1/4 BB with 1/8 BB backer. All are over a foot long +- and 3 plus inches high.
MY QUESTION.................... What or how do you use on the back so the
customer can hang one on a wall?
And I THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT..................................................................................Danny :+}
