  1. I can't say it better than Kevin. I can add that any John Lennon fan would enjoy that portrait. Larry

  5. Bill, There is a lot to learn! Period! Every and I mean every blade has its own quirks. One blade on different wood, different thickness will cut differently. Blade selection is important. There is a post in General Scrollsawing on blades for a new scroller. You can do a search and searches can answer many questions. I have scrolled for years and I am still learning. Ha... truth be known, I'm still forgetting also. Welcome here Bill Larry
  6. Beautiful job. Well worth showing. Larry
  7. I agree with rjR thet the temp can cause that problem. Also some directions indicate a time lapse of up to two days before recoating. There are some instances where a second coat blisters or does not properly adhere. Larry
  8. I made a mistake in typing the wood. The base is Spanish Cedar not Spanish Walnut as I originally posted. The Menorah Is Walnut, not Mahogany. I have no clue why I wrote the wrong wood id. It was clear in my mind but my fingers didn't cooperate. Sorry Ron.....
  9. Well prayers do work. I pray you and Sully are greeted with good news. Larry
  10. I like it. Oh, a thought, hope the cat doesn't lick up the drops Larry
  11. The menorah is Walnut and the base is Spanish Cedar. The base measures 7-1/2" x 5-3/4". The menorah closed is 8" The menorah open is 14" I still have tuning to do and put on a finish. Minor problems but I like it for my first one. The plans are fromscrollsawbowl.blogspot.com by Carole Oh, I still have to purchase and put the candle holders on.
  12. It looks great to me Dick. I think I'll do more framing too. Anyway, nice work. Larry
  13. It's so simple, it's funny. After you explain it! Thanks for showing and telling us. Excellent way to approach using letters. Larry
  14. That's dicey. Raise the price on his patterns and give you the ones he bought. To me each individual purchased pattern comes with its own standards to the law depending on the restrictions imposed by the designer. As an example: One site states: All patterns are fully covered by US Copyright Laws and are intended for end use by hobbyists and craftsmen only, and may not be distributed, made available, published or sold for any commercial purpose as patterns, or designs. IM don't know opinion. Take the patterns, don't sell what you make from them.
  15. Glad to hear this news. A happier scroller is always goood. Scroll away Nick

  19. I agree with Carl. Also, no glass. I always have a problem when I put the backer on, makes it too thick for standard frames. Me
