  1. Roly, Ya did good! Carried the ball, scored a goal, made a basket harhar hehe Especially since you are new at this scrolling business.
  2. Becky, Go to "General Scrollsawing" in the upper right is a 'search' panel. do a search for "Which scrollsaw do you use?" Read some previous posts and make your own decision. You can do searches on many things like "scrollsaw names". Lot of good saws. When you make a decision, post in General Scrollsawing your choice. Just for fun, see what the members say. Most likely all will support your decision as long as it is pinless with variable speeds. Larry
  3. Becky, If you can financially upgrade your saw, you will be so pleased about your new hobby. Just so much more you will enjoy scrolling. Scrolling is a never ending learning addiction. Cut what you can and I wish you the best. Larry
  4. Very nice, good job. Like DW said, anything Mom related is a winner. Larry
  5. Sounds like when you are finished researching, practicing and designing, you will be writing your own basket pattern book. I see the title, " Weaving a basket with a scroll saw. 6. Clayton & Bill, Thanks. Just didn't 'attach' wire bits to drill bits. One of the best tools I have is my Jet drill press. Thanks guys. Larry
  7. Welcome to you and your wife Dennis. I believe you both will really enjoy scroll sawing. While you are turning a bowl or a pen, she can do a portrait on the scroll saw. Larry
  8. Dear Becky, is there something special about a pattern magazine that interests you? Magazines are good but they can't answer a question you may have. We can I think. How to Produce best stuff? 1) Good tools 2) good materials. 3) patterns from Scroll Saw Village Pattern Library and scrollsaw workshop and magazines 4) Patience and practise, practise, practise 5) ask questions Please tell me what type saw you have. Hows your workshop equipped Have you made any sawdust? Have you toured Scrollsaw Village. Welcome to SSV Larry

  13. Dick, that is very good. Not just the cut, the frame is an excellent choice for this pattern. Also the quickest cut on a new pattern I know of. Again, I think you did justice to Paul's pattern. Larry
