  1. Thats a purdy good dragonfly but why did you give a sermon on drilling holes? Larry
  2. Kevin, That will make anyone feel welcome. Such a cute puppyI want to hold to and pet. Is her name ' Miss Bee Love ' ? Larry
  3. All the answers above are true. And as oldhudson said, not much protection. I saw these directions somewhere: Apply BLO Once a day for a week, once a week for a year, once a year forever. My opinion is that not all projects warrent BLO or Lemon oil. Try Lacquer sometimes also...but breathing lacquer fumes ain't good for you. Larry
  4. Travis, excellently written and inspiring. I will persevere this year to do a New Years Resolution. I have always looked at the New Years Resolution as something almost revolting but this year your post has given me a different prospective. I am going to hold on to what brung me and helps to keep me SCROLLING. So I guess my resolution or my 'New Years Determination' is to keep on having no less than three separate projects going, two must be scroll work. Keeping up-to-date on the happenings at Scroll Saw Village. Finding an outlet for my shop full of finished scrolls. Searching for free wood, any special wood like mahogany, walnut, birdseye or tiger anything. Find a way to get a BETTER COMPUTER and get a better hook-up. And find something special to do for someone. Gotta go to the shop. Larry
  5. Brad, Welcome! Please ask questions. Questions usually result in more than one member suggesting a solution. This way I probably will learn something new or a better way to do something. Patterns galore here, little nips or big bites. I still LIKE the small projects. I'm anticipating the day you upload a finished scroll work or something else. Soon I hope. What's your scroll saw? Larry

It better get here by Friday, is it here yet? It better get here by Friday. Is it here yet? Wish it would come early. Oh yes, and there are many diverse people here willing to teach and answer any question. I am very open to learning. Larry
  9. Hey Bill ' Now where did you put that flash drive? ' A thousand patterns in your watch pocket. What is great about a thumb/flash is you only need one copy. I have two or more hard copies. That's a lot of paper. I started organizing my patterns and ran out of note books. I do have most of them under control.
  10. Roly, The bowl is great and I love your clamp. I'm inspired, already scrolled a bowl in my head. Larry
  11. Smitty, May you be blessed and as Bob kinda said," Just something you ate."
  12. Good boy, thinking of Dad.
  13. A big welcome!!! Very pleased you have joined us. I will enjoy seeing the Dragonfly fluttering around Scrollsaw Village. Flitter to a posted topic, hover over some of the scrollwork and lightly touch down to ask a question or make a comment. So, greeting to you. Larry
  14. Thomas or is it Gator, That's crazy scrolling and you did it in only 48 hours (:>)))))) That's fabulous. I'm impressed. I would have been cross eyed. What's the wood? Looks like 1/4 Cherry. Larry
  15. Hi Michel, Wood turning, pens, scrolling and uther stuff. You have joined a great group. Welcome aboard. Do you have a scroll saw? If not there are experts here on all the saw. So, show us some of your pen work. Larry
  16. DW, I want one of those!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a basket woodworkers 'will' want to copy!!!!!! Well, I do!!!!!!!! ?????????? Where do I look for a pattern ????????????????? Larry
  17. How did I miss Steve's tree. You did a great job on it. And the bells, they are tree hangers. Hey, I like your wood choice, gives them a Christmas shine. What is that wood? Kinda looks like Poplar. Larry
  18. Barry, I have no particular preference. The pattern, especially the pattern, the thickness of the wood probably determines How it is displayed. Larry PS: How many ways can you display scroll works? * Framed A) Frame is separate from the scroll work B) Frame is anchored and part of the scroll work * Self standing * Base mounted * Wall hanging - No frame
  19. Great job cutting the cross. A lot of work. Are there two crosses on the stand? Looks like one on both sides. Larry
