JustLarry Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) Kevin, from your posts - “I trust in the lord but just heard on the radio ,praying a minute or two isn't going to cut it The last thing i hear today was my short prayers are not being heard†God does not answer our prayers based on their length. If a day can be like a thousand years and a thousand years can be like a day to Him would He consider a prayer be considered long or short. Maybe our "long" prayers lengthen the time He must listen before He can respond. I often get impatient in wanting my prayers answered sometimes even before they are given. Often I have to slow down to see the answer. Larry Edited December 28, 2015 by JustLarry tomsteve, sullyscroller and LarryEA 3 Quote

spirithorse Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 Kevin, You have to thinkk more positively, Buddy. You've read some of my posts when I was feeling sorry for myself. At times, my faith is really tested and I think when we get close to God, that's when Satan does his best to bring us down. I've had several health issues for several years. I've had numerous surgeries. Sometime's it feels like my prayers will never be answered but, I always have to remind myself of all the prayers that HAVE been answered and the miracles I have seen in my life. Prayers sent your way!God Bless! Spirithorse LarryEA, tomsteve and GrampaJim 3 Quote

kywoodmaster Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 Kevin: Probably not going to be instant help but find a product called BioFreeze. Should be able to pick it up a Chiropractors office or a natural healer/ health food place. It will do wanders for the pain. I use it almost daily. I try to avoid the opiates as much as possible. Go out and find a few friends to pack your pod or grab a few homeless guys if there are any in your area. Lots of time they will do great things for a hot meal and you might just make a friend for life. Good luck and never give up. My Dad always said "it was never too late as long as you are still breathing". Quote

I'm learning, icy hot worked wonders for my leg ,But nothing for my wrist ,I can't stand people riffling thru my stuff.rather than just pick it up and put it down.I've worked with way to many people and curiosity gets the better of them.Everybody wants something for free. The smell of cigarettes and booze sweat repulses me,let alone butt crack stench and under arm b.o. makes me sick. Maybe that's why I'm a loner?Smokers don't care where they throw their cigarette butts either.Lots of things bother me to know end.I do everything my self all my life till now because of health issues.A church offered help but the last one i was at they stole the guy meds,Another one pulled a gun on a member, the list goes on.It's tough to find good help. Sycamore67 Posted December 28, 2015 Report Posted December 28, 2015 I am not a doctor but have severe wrist problems. My wrist joint is gone and will have surgery on it in January..Hand in cast and no scroll saw for several months. But, eventually will be back at it. Ice is good to reduce the inflammation of tendonitis. An anti-inflammatory cream or gel might help. I use a prescription one. A wrist brace may help. See a doctor and get some help. You have been doing so much scrolling that you likely have been irritating it for some time. With time, you will be back at it. Quote
tomsteve Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 can you believe theres sinners at church?!?!?! let he who is without sin cast the first stone. finding good help isnt hard. using righteous judgement is. im sure jesus, with his one piece of clothing, didnt always smell the best. if the only thing wrong with some of them people are they smell like cigarettes or have body odor, im thinkin theyre pretty awesome! humility never hurt anyone. lack of it has destroyed nations. Sparkey Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 Kevin all prayers work short or long. You have to make up your mind that you are going to do it and not give up in order for the prayers to work. I'll use myself as an example. I have three vertebrae fused together in my neck, C 4, 5 and 6. I have spinal stenosis in my back at T 15, 16, 17 and L 2 and 3. There is not a day that goes by that I am not in pain. I made my mind up to not let it stop me. God has given me the strength to deal with it and not take pain meds. I still play golf, frisbee golf, go shooting, scroll and still work. I will be getting another vertebrae fused in my neck in 2016. Don't give up and God will give you the strength. You can do it Kevin, don't give up. amazingkevin and LarryEA 2 Quote
ChelCass Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 Kevin I am so sorry to hear this. However all is not lost. Buck up and pick up the phone and call your local senior center and tell them your problem. They should be able to help load the pod. If not them then call the salvation army, they will help you. There is help out there you just need to ask for it. Under no circumstance should you get rid of all your equipment. If you have sprained your wrist soak it dailys in Ice water then heat and keep repeating. Baby your wrist until it has time to heal its self to the point it is bearable. This is going to take time but you have to give your body to heal its self. We are here to help you thru this. Hang in there Kev! Hugs! Phantom Scroller, LarryEA, bobscroll and 1 other 4 Quote

heppnerguy Posted January 9, 2016 Report Posted January 9, 2016 Kevin, Here it is the 8th of January and I decided to drop into the coffee shop. I hardly ever do that but i am glad that i wondered in tonight. I did not know you were hurt. It sounds like you do not have much faith that your prayers are being heard. I remember when I first came to The Village and you wrote to me because you noticed where I live and you told me how you had lived and worked in Hood River, I believe it was. You also told me that you did not have many friends in your life, at the time and how you felt rather lonesome most of the time. Now look at how many friends you have. You are known world wide and this wonderful family you have here has stepped forward and shown you a lot of mercy and caring. You seem to be overlooking all the love and prayers that are being offered up for you, by so many people whom you have not even met before. I think it is about time that you get down on your knees and thank God for all these wonderful people He has placed into your life. You NEED to start talking with Jesus and not making excuses and feeling sorry for yourself. God has big plans and this just might be His way of getting your attention. He may want you to slow down and get away from the saw and start thanking Him for loving you so much. He has given you talents and you seem to think that it is all your doing. Your scrolling has put you in touch with many people, not only here in The Village but also in your community. He has helped you find a way to show your appreciation for others through your work in scrolling gifts to give to other. Now it is your time to give yourself a gift and to be more thankful for what you have and the people you know. My wife has an attitude that you might learn from, you see my wife has arthritis that makes it so she can not even get up from her chair, often times because the pain to so great. To walk is a very painful thing for her. To get in and out of a car give her excruciating pain and you know what she says to me ? She said I am so thankful that I have this arthritis and not a life threatening decease like cancer. This is what you need to be doing. Look at the bright side of things and start communicating with the one person who has been waiting for you to do so, that being your maker. Then you will be allowing Him do do His work of healing for you. Would you want to help someone that has ignored you or turned their back on you? No, of course not. So start spending time talking with and getting to know our Lord. Once you start doing that, you will discover that He is your friend and He can start healing you, both mentally and physically. If you do not spend time with someone, because you do not want to, how do you expect them to do you favors? He loves you, start focusing on Him and you will understand a lot more about Him, yourself and the caring of others here, for you. I promise if you start spending time with Him you will start to discover the blessing He has for you..We are your family here. You are important to us. Give thanks, and stop focusing on your troubles. You have a lot to give others yet and you still have your family here and you are not in a situation that is life threatening. Bless you, my friend. I only want the best for you. Dick heppnerguy Phantom Scroller, GrampaJim, LarryEA and 3 others 6 Quote
Loskoppie Posted January 9, 2016 Report Posted January 9, 2016 My hubby was in a bad road accident with a bad outlook. People cant explain how he is as good as he is ( not perfect ). Lucky2 Posted January 9, 2016 Report Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) Hang in there Kev, it's been 17 yrs since I got hurt in a simple accident, and I've been in excruciating pain throughout my body 24/7 ever since. I'm at my wits end, and there's no hope in site. I've been told that surgery is not an option, and that they don't quite know how to treat me. Fun eh? I've tried everything including massive amounts of drugs, which I'm still taking. Thankfully I have insurance, the medications are costing over $5000.00 a month. They give me a little relief, but, not much. I'm in such bad shape, that it hurts to breathe at times. So, I know a little about what your talking about. The difference between you and me, is the support system I have backing me. Your going to have to open up, and allow other people to help you out. I know it's not nice to have others going through your stuff, but it sure beats the alternative of losing it all. Plus you'll be there, so, how much chance would they have to go through your items. Your always doing nice things for others, it's time to let others do nice things for you. Let your friends and aquaintances know what your going through, then hopefully they'll come through and help you. Are you sure it's tendinitous, could it not be carpel tunnel problems? Get it checked out, the braces they have for carpel tunnel problems really help. And maybe that's all you need, to get back to scrolling away. To fix it completely, it's just a matter of minor surgery if that's the problem. I had the surgery done on both wrists, they both felt like they were broken before the surgery. A couple of weeks after the surgery my wrist felt the very best, and I couldn't wait to get the surgery done on the other wrist. That was a few years ago, I haven't had a problem with either wrist since the surgery. Even if you don't have carpel tunnel syndrome, the wrist supports for it will help with the tendinitous a bit but I don't know the price of the supports nowadays. You could try one out at a local drugstore just to see if they help any, if they did and you didn't have the funds to pay for them, I'll cover the cost for two supports if you need them. They're not all that expensive, and they might get you back to scrolling. So, try them out and get back to me if they help, I'll find some way to get the funds to you to pay for the support. Hang in there, things are bound to get better you just need a little time. I know your in a tough spot right now, hopefully before to long things will get better. Prayers are going out to you, may God bless. Len Edited January 9, 2016 by Lucky2 amazingkevin, Phantom Scroller and LarryEA 3 Quote
