don in brooklin on Posted June 3, 2025 Report Posted June 3, 2025 I was doing key tags for my grandson's baseball team and got to thinking that this is the best pattern program out there. I probably have done a couple hundred for teachers, teams and friends. The Canada one below is reduced to about 3/8 inch high. Many of the more recent scrollers may not know of this program, It is way down nearly at the bottom of the blog. https://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/ There is an online maker that I think will work for Mac's https://stevedgood.com/stencil/ I get more thanks for this as a little gift. Many people have never got anything with their names on anything. Dak0ta52, ChelCass, MarieC and 5 others 7 1 Quote

Hawk Posted June 4, 2025 Report Posted June 4, 2025 First off, nice job on the key chains. Second, thanks for the info on Steve's site. Been there hundreds of times but so focused on the patterns I forget there's a ton of other info there. Thanks for opening my eyes! Chris barb.j.enders and OCtoolguy 2 Quote
Denny Knappen Posted June 4, 2025 Report Posted June 4, 2025 I downloaded the program years ago and made a few. I forgot all about it. Thanks for the reminder. Jim McDonald and OCtoolguy 2 Quote

don in brooklin on Posted August 15, 2025 Author Report Posted August 15, 2025 I use the stand alone program and have no issues. I just tried the online version and as you say the download crashes. I have sent a screen shot to Steve and will see if he gets back to me. I usually get a response with this kind of issue. Will post if he gets bac to me. Quote
don in brooklin on Posted August 16, 2025 Author Report Posted August 16, 2025 (edited) If you have mychain.ttf on your computer you can make the keychains with A. Inkscape - Note select size about 100pts. You have to kern all the letters (the AA width 0). B. Word: (id use Libreoffice) use font mychain size 100 pts You can adjust font size if too big or small. PS: If using Inkscape and you are a person who like red lines. it can be done by converting the name to a path and and then do union on the characters. Now change fill and stroke as you desire. PS: PM for info on mychain.ttf Edited August 16, 2025 by don in brooklin on Hudson River Rick 1 Quote
