I like the magazine including the centerfold but why do they post patterns that probably the majority can’t copy

this month one pattern is like 9x9 my printer is 8.5x10

my closest place that will make a copy that size is an hour away and wants $20 for a copy

then if u can make your own copies u have to fold it and now there is tinkles and lines if u flip it over to copy something from the others side

FedEx stores in my area have huge self-service scanners that charge by the square inch (I think). They work great. It flattens as it scans, so there is no distortion and no visible folds.

I have used my camera to get patterns. It doesn't work well unless I can get the paper flat and the camera parallel to the paper pattern.

I think Denny has the best solution for this issue.. That said I stopped getting the magazine years ago because I didn't like the way the patterns are on that huge sheet and like has already been mentioned you wrinkle it all up and then when you want to copy one from the other side it's all messed up with the winkles and doesn't copy well.. not to mention, I can never find the patterns I'm looking for and many times it's just much easier to buy the design online somewhere and have a digital file for it that's easy to categorize and find later.

If the pattern is too large for the printer, I draw a line down the center and print each half then line up the pieces.

Way before Fed X came around and opened stores where you can copy things of any size with great accuracy, I use to do that with many of my projects. Especially the mirrors I use to make. I made a couple different sizes of the same style and needed to increase the plans. But I would do them in quarters and then tape all lines together in proper order. It worked well. yes alot of extra work but worth it.

There are many folks here who have vented over this same problem. I can't figure out why they don't have a way to download the patterns. It would have to be cheaper in the long run.

They do have a way. If you go to their website and look up an issue, they have extra patterns you can dl and print. The wand stand for the magic wands is one example. So the reason must be: people who get a digital copy and post it all over the net; various forum and Facebook groups.

I won't buy any issue. I wait until they come available on DVD. I have issues 1 - 84. All patterns avaliable.

I got an email yesterday that the DVDS where 50% off. Don't know if specific to me but worth call.

Last time I talked to customer service they said USB stick could be made avaliable but no digital download.

Now waiting for 85 - 96.
