Thrift store board

I picked up this piece of wood for $3 at a thrift store. It was a laser engraved plaque. I planed the engraving off and it worked beautifully for this pattern.

Nice find.  I'm never so lucky to find something like this.  If I did, I don't have the tools (like a planer) to make it useful to me.  Maybe I could sand if off.

You just never know where you are going to find some great wood.  I find pieces at yard sales, estates sales and thrift shops.  What fun!  Great repurpose!  Love what you did with the wood.

This was my haul that day. I used the bamboo cutting board for a Mike Rowe portrait. I really like the hand carved Tiki statue.

Jerry, you can pick up a decent planer at Home Depot for under 300.00 and if you have military you can get 10 percent off that.  This is what I bought my husband and he loves it.  Says it works great for his needs.  Just a thought.

Thanks! Yes, after two carpal tunnel surgeries along with three trigger finger releases my hands are back to normal.
