Millwab Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 (edited) From today’s blog … Dear Scrollsaw Workshop subscribers, we are heartbroken to let you know that Steve unfortunately suffered another heart attack over the weekend and passed away on Monday, March 2nd, 2026. We were able to be by his side until the end, and we know how much he sincerely appreciated the hundreds and thousands of cards and messages with well wishes and prayers over the past few weeks. He received several handmade gifts that he cherished greatly and had displayed in his room. Every time you cut one of Steve's patterns, please know that you are keeping his memory alive and that he will always be with you. The visitation will be held at Scott Funeral Home at 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, IN on Monday, March 9th, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with service to follow. In lieu of flowers, we have decided to keep his website up and running for right now, so any donations to Scrollsaw Workshop would be appreciated to help cover costs of running the blog as well as other expenses during this time. This can be done by going to: https://www.stevedgood.com/donate2.html We will send another update in the next few days with more information on the future of the website. For now, all of the patterns are still available for you as always. We will do our best to respond to messages, but please understand that this is a busy and difficult time for our family. Thank you for your support over the past 20 years. Steve was so proud of his work with Scrollsaw Workshop and cared for each and every one of you. TAIrving Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Condolences to Patty and family. I bought my first scroll saw several years ago (about 7 years ago) and was struggling with what to do with it. Then I found some of Steve's YouTube videos and his blog site. That got me started and kept me going for many years. I have continued to follow his daily posts up to now. He was a prime factor in making this an enjoyable hobby to me in my retirement. The picture is of a piece I made from one of Steve's patterns and one of my very earliest scroll-saw projects, probably the earliest one still on display in my home. Thank you, Steve, may you rest in peace. OCtoolguy and barb.j.enders 2 Quote
Dave Monk Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 Steve touched the lives of many from all over the world. He will be truly missed. I give him and The village all the credit for contributing to my addiction to scrolling. It would be awesome if someone could reach out to the family and acquire his pattern catalogue to keep his memory alive. preprius, wombatie, Scrolling Steve and 1 other 4 Quote

Popular Post Travis Posted March 4 Popular Post Report Posted March 4 I read this sad news last night and it taken me a bit of time to process. It's no exaggeration to say he had one of the biggest impact in the scrolling community for his sheer prolific pattern making, free sharing of knowledge, and passion for the hobby. He wanted to get as many people into scrolling as he could. Tutorials, videos, reviews, tips, software....the list goes on. And none of us can ignore the sheer volume of professional patterns he has designed over the years. In total, over 5,000 patterns, all for free! It's just mind boggling how much he has done. Even more amazing, he answered all his emails with thought and care. (I can't even fathom how many emails hit is inbox each day). He had a love of technology, learning and trying new things. He was always excited to see what new thing can be added to the hobby. When I started my blog in 2007, he was very generous with his time and knowledge and he was excited for me. Then, I started SSV in 2009. And again, he was excited for me and what it could offer to the hobby. He promoted SSV, linked, and shared. He never considered any of it as competition, he only looked at it as "more awesome stuff for the community." He had such a kind and giving heart. We can only hope to be remembered as he has. Rest, our friend. preprius, MarieC, barb.j.enders and 12 others 13 2 Quote

OCtoolguy Posted March 4 Report Posted March 4 There is nothing more that I can add to what has already been said. We have lost a GIANT in the world of scrolling. Nothing or nobody can take his place. I offer up my prayers for his family and hope that he rests in peace. God must have needed someone up in Heaven to teach the art and make more patterns. We can all look forward to seeing what he has created when we get up there. Miss you Steve. barb.j.enders, Jronn65, ChelCass and 4 others 7 Quote
