  1. If you checked out the ones on Amazon and Rockler, then you've pretty much have seen them all. Len
  2. They do a great job, as long as your doing the right type of work with the proper type of bit/tip. It's the tips that will cost you, I have a bunch of them that I paid lots for. Len
  3. I use to use them a bit when I first started scrolling, but now that I use better blades I no longer have any use for them. Len
  4. Earl, that's amazing. Len
  5. What makes you think they can be built at the same quality level as the EX's were, but be sold at a much lower price? king is known to be inferior tool makers in Canada, most people who know tools won't even stop to look at a King tool. I would be willing to bet that the reason they can sell their saws cheaper, is because they are using lower quality components in their saws. They have in all of their other tools over the years, why not do the same in these new saws? To each their own, I just know that I will never own another King tool no matter what the price. Len
  6. A good looking pack of wolves. Len
  7. Good luck at the sale Ig, I hope you sell out. Len
  8. I know nothing about the new King scroll saw, but I do know of the quality of most of their other types of woodworking tools. It's been years since I was stupid enough to spend any money on a King woodworking tool. From personal experience, I know just how poor the quality of their tools are. I've never had one of their tools last any length of time, every one that I bought I had to return for a refund. I knew the sales rep for King tools, and he personally guaranteed that he's make things right if I had an issue with their tools. Thank goodness he stood behind his word, because all of their tools were junk. The reason for buying them in the first place was the price, they were half the cost of their competitors. They used inferior quality materials in making their tools, it was east to tell after using the tool just a couple of times. I wonder if that is why or how they can offer these new saws ,at the low price they offer them up for. Personally, I'll never own another tool that is made by or for the King brand of tools, they are junk as far as I'm concerned. It is not only me who feels this way, ask most woodworkers who have dealt with King tools and they will tell you the same as I am. Len
  9. Way to go Iggy, I'm happy that things are working out for you. Len
  10. Not me, I don't even keep a photo journal of the things I make, I just never remember to take pictures. I probably would take pics and keep a photo journal, if I owned a cell-phone to take the pics with. I don't, and it's a lot of bother to keep running back and forth from the house to the workshop. Len
  11. Kevin, sometimes there is no option to buying from the big box stores(BBS), I know that I have no option. Even the selection at the BBS around here are pitiful, the only type of hardwood they carry is hard maple and if your lucky you might find a descent piece of oak. For me to get anything other them those two types of hardwood, I have to drive over 90 miles to another BBS. And the selection there still isn't anything to write home about, try to get a piece of Cherry, Walnut, or Purpleheart it isn't available most of the time. And if I have to order it in, it takes at least two weeks to get it. Len
  12. I may be wrong, but I think it is a pattern that was in the CWWC magazine . If not the CWWC then in the SSWC mag. If I am wrong, it wouldn't be the first time, and it probably won't be the last. Len
  13. Iggy, place some unreasonably high price on the Sax, you never know, some one might be foolish enough to pay the price. I've never made anything on the scrollsaw, that I wouldn't put a price on. Yes I made a few items that I really didn't want to sell, but, if someone saw something I wanted to keep for myself that they wanted to buy. Then I'd sell the item to them, but at a highly inflated price. Len
  14. Plain.
  15. You should get permission from the head office, no regular employee can give you the proper permission required to make anything off of their logo. I would think the best people to ask for permission, would be the company's legal department. If you explain what you want to use the logo for, there may not be any problem with using it, but it's best to ask the right people. Len

Jesse, there's an awful lot of floaters this pattern, is there anything you can do about that? Len
  17. Dick, as always, your work is quite impressive to look at. I was wondering where you were, I asked on here just a day or two ago. It's nice to have you back on the bords, your postings were missed. And not only postings of your work, I enjoy reading your written responses also, they're interesting also. How's Theresa with your move, does she want you to move back? Len
  18. Has anyone heard from Dick, I haven't seen many posts from him since he moved from Heppner. Len
  19. They were an excellent saw in their day, but depending on how old it is parts may not be available. Do a good search on the model of saw that it is, and then you'll know if the parts can be bought to fix any problems that might arise. Len
  20. Helmut has a great selection to pick from, I bought a bunch of patterns from him. Len
  21. What I generally use, is 1/8" birch plywood. Not the Baltic Birch, just regular everyday birch plywood. Sometimes I'll use !/8" oak, but only if it makes the project look better. Len
  22. Way to go Marg, good on you. Len
  23. Dave, that's a great looking trailer sign, I like the material you used. You were wise to not plane it down, doing that will ruin your blades and not give you much of a finished surface. Len
  24. Kevin, if this is one of the patterns that were included in the sale that Rick and Karen Longabaugh put on when they sold the company, then, you can either give her the pattern, or you can sell it to her. The patterns that were included in that sale, were copyright free and you could do whatever you wanted with them. There was a part of that release that was still copyright protected, but it was only one part and that part was the big clocks. I'm not certain, but I think it was part number four that was protected. I've lost all of those patterns through a computer crash, I wish I hadn't, there was some very nice patterns. Len
  25. Very impressive puzzle pattern Monti, will you be sharing it with us? Len
