  1. Well Katie, we know what your next project will be. Len
  2. Sean, you can get all the info you need about scrolling, by participating and asking questions here on the Village. There's other scrolling sites that have lots of info also, you just have to read their forums. As for patterns, you can find some on here as well, just check out the pattern library. All scrollsaw sites have pattern libraries, that's another good reason to check out other sites. As for a good pattern book, there's many, it all depends on what type of pattern your looking to cut. There is one good magazine that you might want to look into, it's called Scrollsaw Woodworking and Crafts. It's published about 7 times per year, and it covers a lot of scrolling subjects. Len
  3. If you are very careful with what your doing, you should not have any glue squeeze-out. I never have glue squeeze-out, but, I'm stingy with the glue. You can see beforehand where the possibility of a glue squeeze exists, so, you use less glue in those situations. I usually screw the base to the cutting, there's less of a chance of a failure. Plus, by using screws, you can always take the item apart for storage. Len
  4. Rick, this is a very impressive bit of work, it looks amazing. Len
  5. Looks nice Dan, the neighbors will be jealous. Len
  6. Too cute Dan, they should be a big hit. Len
  7. Nicely done John, the torch work really adds to the piece. Len
  8. Paul, it's a very impressive piece, thanks for sharing the video with us. Len
  9. Pete, that's a fine bit of cutting, all three pieces look nice. But, I love that live edge oak welcome plaque. What will you be using for a finish? Len
  10. Nicely done Helmut, I cut a few of these years ago. They were great sellers, but, I don't remember which magazine I got the patterns from. Len

Looks good Rick, nice and colorful. Len
  12. Scott, congratulations on the successful sale, with the quality of your work, there's no wonder why you did so well. You had a dandy display set-up, lots of room to display yur work. Len
  13. I agree with Heppnerguy (Dick), if you do as he has suggested you'll be headed in the right direction. Sure, I agree with reading books, but, I get more out of seeing something done then I do from reading about how something is done. Len
  14. Iggy, I'm sorry, I don't know where my head was at when I replied the way I did. I should have been agreeing with you, I use the #3 blade for the same purposes. Len
  15. Todd, both pieces look great, the Wolf one was a good seller for me. Len
  16. Nicely done Cliff, they look super nice especially with the backgrounds you've used. Len
  17. Nicely done Jerry, that's an ambitious undertaking to make them for all of the survivors you know. Good luck to you, I hope you don't get overwhelmed. Len
  18. Frank, what's wrong with the Canada Goose being our national bird. For years now, it's the bird people have considered our national bird. Why do we need a change? Len
  19. Jim, thanks for the heads-up, I might give this a try. Len
  20. Edward, you have a dandy set-up, and there's definitely something for everyone in your display. Len
  21. I set mine up the same way as Randy does his, it works good set up that way. Len
  22. Iggy, there's a big difference between a #3 blade, compared to a #3/0 blade. The #3 blade is meant to cut wood with,a #3/0 blade is considered a jewelers blade. Len
  23. Too cute. Len
  24. Outstanding cutting Todd, man-o-man that looks nice. Len
  25. Nicely done Monti, when I first saw them I thought the halos were all broken. But after giving them another look, I realized that what I was seeing was that they had a string through each one. One thing I did notice though, it look like you didn't sand them after cutting them out. What makes me think that, is that there's some fine fuzzies around the edges of a few of them. Len
