  1. Could the model number be 40-540? The manual for that one doesn't even show a fuse. It must be part of the control board. Anyway, do like CharleyL suggests.
  2. I use #56 thru #69 for many projects.
  3. Jes, just cut it and find out. Yes, it is compound cutting. Like Les said just put the pattern of the mermaid on adjacent sides of the blank and you should get what you want.
  4. I'm curious as to how many have been active, even if just lurking one time, over the past year. That may be a better gage of active members. I'm still a member of IAP (pen turners) but I have only been there once in the past year. There's just not enough time for everything I want to do.
  5. Great job on all of them. That is an outstanding collection.

    First shelf

I put little rubber feet on the back of the stuff I hang to protect the paint on the walls. This leave enough room for the French cleats and holds the item to the wall.
  7. The grandkids love tossing handfuls into the firepit and watching the sparkles. I burn most of mine.

Very nice! I love the look of cherry. For hanging, you could use French cleats. Like Frank suggested, if you use a backer on the scrolled section the French cleat would hold it against the wall.

    Sam Elliot

Yup! That's Sam alright. Great job!
  10. Well, there are a lot of great pattern designers here and that is what you guys want. Why not have this community support the magazine by submitting patterns? Yes that is a hint to some (Alex Fox comes to mind), but there are many others. If the magazine is still around when I have more time maybe I'll submits some patterns.
  11. Fantastic job! And the bonus is your first custom order.
  12. Nice one Mark. Hey, instead of filing or sanding where you cut out the piece, just glue them in and they should fit snug. Then sand the surfaces until they are flat. A belt sander would be your best option for that. You could always start with slightly thicker pieces if you want the finished piece to be a certain thickness. Anyway, it sounds like you are on the right track to get very close to the correct thickness.
  13. Very cool. That looks like a lot of cuts. Did you turn the base?

    Navy piece

Very professionally done. Everything is so sharp and crisp just like the sailor's that served. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Wonderful piece!
  16. She sure got you genes. Great job, young lady!
  17. Jeff created some great patterns and you did a fantastic job with it. Lots of detail.
  18. Welcome to The Village!
  19. Nice! The rough cut gives it a lot of dimension.
  20. Awesome!
  21. Welcome to The Village! I'd like to see some of your dioramas and warhammers figures.

    Seahorse

Nice! That looks like the start of a theme. Could be sea creatures, birds, leaves, etc.
  23. Nice! How many layers are there? I will have to make one for each granddaughter.
  24. Awesome! I love all the details.
  25. Nice!
