There are two local auction houses in my area, Sherwood Auction and Pioneer Auction. Both are in Alma, Mi. There are others but too far to drive. This is the second time they have had scroll saw blades. I see a lot of scroll sawx also but most are older or go for way much money. Try googling auction in your area and see what is out there. Both Auction Houses do live auction but I prefer to not go to those. The online auctions always have a day when you can go and look at everything for auction.
My last online auction had some scrollsaw blades so I bid on them and won. Just priced out the blades and not counting the partial packs of coping saw blades I got about 75.00 worth of blades for 21.00. Not a bad deal! Most of the blades are Olson but I got two packs of Pegas.
I have done stained glass for years and find those patterns (and I have a ton of patterns) work really well for scroll sawing also. Love your dragonfly. Colors are spot on.
A few new cuts and a few I decided to paint. Scooby left a bit to the imagination so I thought I better paint him. The turtle I first pyro'ed a bit then decided to paint just the turtle and seaweed.
I need to update my pictures. My saw is in the center on the far end of my shed. On the right is a table with a box fan and filter, past that is a drill press with a small drill bit. On the table is all my blades, some files and sandpaper. On the left side of my saw is my large work bench with two sanders, most of my work tools on peg board. next to my work bench is another drill press with a large drill bit for larger holes. Under the table is a small vacuum sweeper.
They do make compact routers, not sure if this would work for you. Have you tried using a Dremel type sander? Also I picked up a mini sander that works really well maybe something like that would work for you. Bought it off Amazon for around 47.00.
Welcome to the village, from Michigan. Be sure to check out our Pattern Library. Any questions, just ask, always someone willing to lend a helping hand here.
My Hero is the person pictured in the center picture. He and many others gave us the freedoms that the other two pictures represent. Our Freedom to do as we choose whether it be who we vote for, pray to and live our everyday lives. Those are my hero's.
I use E6000 all the time. A little goes a long way. I have glued wood to wood (painted), glass to glass, metal to wood and glass to wood with no problems. If I am doing a really small piece then I use a toothpick to apply the glue. Can be bought at walmart, and any craft store.
