  1. I have a oscillating sander and very rarely use it. I make a lot of ornaments (both silhouette and fret) and I find I use my Dremel from the inside cuts and for outside edges I just bought a mini belt sander that works perfectly. Found it on Amazon for around 45.00. Light weight but heavy enough to not be tipsy. Perhaps these would work better for you and Penny and the cost is very affordable.
  2. Oh buggers! I don't do clocks. Hmmmmm will have to think of something else. How about St. Patrick's day?????
  3. Finally got to do a test sanding with my new sander (above)..............SWEEEEET!............................well worth the money. Perfect size for cleaning up my ornaments.
  4. Morning all, For those who have the Dewalt 788 Steve Good has a video in today's newsletter by Matt Haas from Awesomewoodthings.com. you might find interesting if not helpful. It shows many details for repairs and sources to buy needed parts.
  5. You would be surprised at how many Scrollers use Stain Glass Patterns. They work really well for intarsia.
  6. Bought it off Amazon. It's a LianDu Belt Sander. Had good reviews so I thought for the price it was worth trying.
  7. I have been looking for a small bench sander to go along with the full size sander and my orbital sanders. I wanted one that didn't take up a lot of space plus I want it mainly for my ornaments that I make. This is what I found. Now if I can just keep hubby from borrowing it!! LOL
  8. Your boss must have one heck of a sense of humor, that is hysterical . Thanks for sharing.
  9. Holy crap! Amazon wants 17.66 for the same book that Ebay has for 4.06. WOW!
  10. FYI: Ebay has this book for 4.09. Might be worth the price.
  11. Edward Scissorhands aka Johnny Depp???
  12. Awesome! Well worth the drive. It may just need a good cleaning and greasing. You can always scout around for another one for parts. Keep us posted.
  13. Great setup, hope you sell a ton and get lots of orders. Good Luck.
  14. Mostly solid wood right now. I find they made the nicest ornaments. I buy that lumber from LLJohnson. Right now Cherry is my favorite. I did a couple in Cedar but it kept breaking, too brittle.
  15. A couple of windchimes I made back in 2019. The snowman I still have and use every Christmas. The Welcome sign I made for a couple girl friends of mine, we were in a crafting group together. The Anita one is for a friend in New York. My eyesight was a lot better back then.
  16. As Kevin said the drip tank is for when you cut glass or ceramics. I have a glass cutting saw and it has a water reservoir and water is soaked up into a sponge that touches the blade when I am cutting my glass. It is for temperature control.
  17. Still need to do a bit of sanding on the ornaments but that's ok the critters don't care.....lol The Karen one I need to send out yet. The sign is for Hubby's shop, just got it finished today. It is wrapped and setting behind a chair in the living room but out far out enough that it is easily seen from where he usually sits. It could be a couple of days before he sees it.. Not a overly observant person......................lol ps the board the letters are attached to he cut to size and sanded for me..............:) Little did he know.
  18. I love the snowflakes. Reminds me of how nice and cozy it is inside.
  19. Thank you Travis, Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New year to you and your family.
  20. I believe Lowes carries it. Also check with companies that make laminate countertops they may have scraps you can get.
  21. This is our tree, some are scrolled by me, some by fellow scrollers back when we did ornament exchanges and others are store bought and painted by me. Plus a few crafty ornaments I made. Our side windows have the screens on the inside which makes it handy for me to hang ornaments.
  22. Hey Kevin, I use the precut ornaments from Dollar store also. I find the wood cuts nicely and the cost is good. I also buy the small plaques they have for backers. They work really well. I have talked with some of the scrollers on other sites they also use the Dollar store wood. Keep on scrolling my friend.
  23. Hey Frank,   Everything ok??  We haven't seen you on SSV.  Just checking to see if you are ok>

  24. Very Nice. Hubby was a lineman for Michigan Bell now AT&T. Hard on the knees. No way could I climb a tall pole like these guys do. Amazes me how we can drive by a Telephone pole and hubby know what everything is that is strung on that pole. Tough job in some very nasty weather also. Got to try and cut this pattern for him.
