  1. I too like the black background as it is easier to see the get cutting. But I do like the pine stained top. You say "pine Minwax" Is that the puritan pine or the Ipswich Pine. I have a project that I am working on now and I want to stain and this colour would be perfect. Thanks
  2. That is really great. Approx how big is it. I have a paw print pattern and the boss thinks it would make a great gift for a friend who is a cat lover. Thanks
  3. In volume number 2 of SSSW there is a pattern called "flight of scrolled fancy" Puzzles by Tony and June Burns
  4. Did you get it. I usually right click and install for all users.
  5. Thank you. I am a collector of fonts and this is a really great one. You did a excellent job of altering. Love it
  6. That is excellent cutting. I love the font. Are you planning on 2 signs?
  7. #5 is what I use. I have never used skip tooth but I think they should do fine. I am not familiar with superskip but it reading the specks and it should be fine too. I am a die hard Flying Dutchman and when I have hard wood I usually use a #5 Polar. Recently, I had some had some cherry and I found the #5 MGT worked well. Not a Pegas fan as I find them aggressive. I am a believer that the best blades are the one you get used too. In all cases I wrap with box tape.
  8. The only time I do that is when doing some hardwoods. Hard maple, cherry, purpleheart. Especially when cutting the compound mini birdhouses do it all the time. If I don't have to I don't as the sawdust sometimes get trapped at the line. If fine work I only tape the back with box tape. As Bill says usually packing tape is enough. Same with shelf liner.
  9. Here is a quick PDF that explains the process. Steve explains the process he uses to get the pattern into Inscape. Either Import or Open will work.https://youtu.be/hh4JwEjCL8Y if you have specific questions please PM. red line in inkscape.pdf
  10. I would second that we should have an area were we put those AHA moments. Just after I read this I was altering Steve Good's Post from today. Instead of "If Gramma is missing" I wanted to put If Tony is missing. (A good friend) I opened Steve's Pattern and drew circle and put text on circle. It was backwards. I did everything I could think of and then AHA. Took pattern and copied to a new document. Then worked like a charm. I have had this occur before. I think between Corel Draw and Inkscape something happens with the PDF. I had this before and forgot this should be done. Now I will remember. I will post when I have cut.
  11. I have used on BB and it does not pull up fibers that I can see. One issue I have had is that it will pull up when doing tight lettering. You have to make sure the bb is free of dust. I some times give the BB a quick coat of sealer (50/50 shellac / alcohol) but I do that with painters tape too. It saves a lot of time when doing puzzles like Iggy but I still use a lot of painters tape but the Blue stuff is getting real expensive and the $ store stuff is not as good.
  12. Really love it. Well done. This is my dream car. I always thought that when I retired I would get a old vet. Never happened. Now too old to get down that far.
  13. I think his patterns are at https://theartfactory.com/
  14. They came out real nice. What is the background of the first one. I looks cool. Also, how thick is the wood? Thanks.
  15. Having modified many of Steve's patterns The numbers are Lintsec from dafont.com The letters are Scroll Stencil 2. A Steve Good font.
  16. Very cool. Love the size. I have a Carter but he is #11 and would love it. Thanks for posting
  17. The closest I have is courier new - bold (it maybe bold italic as I can't see from picture) If you do not want the centers to fall out you will have to use your eraser. If this does not work let me know and I will explore some more.
  18. Love the idea of the pin. We ended up in Stoufville as they didnot have enough people so they opened it up to anyone over 70. Really slick operation. It was Moderna.
  19. In Canada we got off to a slow start in administering vaccines so the wait time was extended to 16 weeks. I got my first in March and wasn't scheduled to get second until July 24th. Now that supply has ramped up, second doses are being accelerated. My daughter saw on TV that the region next to ours had openings and so they made them available to anyone 70+. (current level is 80+) On the computer and a 30 minute drive later all done. Quite happy. Altered Steve Goods pattern so I could post on Facebook to give my kids a laugh.
  20. I have the Rigid Oscillating/ Belt Spindle combo. It is great. It comes with a lifetime warranty. After about 8 years of use when I moved the top bolt got jammed on. I took it to the repair shop who couldn't get it to unloosen so Rigid replaced the whole machine even though I explained it was the movers who did it. Still use it all the time. I recently got a drum sander so I don't use the belt sander as much. One down side it the smallest drum is 1/2 inch. At our club we have a 1/4" which is good for some pieces. Don't know the brand.
  21. Turned out great - nice cutting. Thanks for posting
  22. Hash tag Lady Blue Knights Under 15 Competive I guess it gets the right website. The kids know all about it
  23. My Grand Daughter is nuts about lacrosse. It has been a rough 2 years. The team has only been able to get together on Zoom. They do drills etc. and the coach sent everyone a shirt with the saying so I made plaque just for fun. Designed on Friday night cut and painted yesterday and delivered this morning for the zoom meeting. Actually I did too fast as the chevron is not centered in circle. Didn't see until I was nearly finished cutting. I doubt she will notice. The front is 1/4 BB and backer is 1/8.
  24. Here is version 2 The cats aren't quite the same but this will be a little more solid. cat hanger.2.pdf
  25. See if this will do. If you need the size changed let me know. I attached the psf so you can enlarge if required cat hanger.pdf
