We could not get out to get Easter cards for the Grandkids so I made some gift holders. Quick and easy. (FYI. That is a $20 Canadian Bill)

I like to use flush mount hangers. They will hold a lot of weight and look good as the picture is very close to the wall.

I have not a lot on the to-do list. I hope to see a few pictures as I am going to do a couple more sets and am looking for inspiration.

I made this for my nephew's birthday about 10 years ago. We visited just before the lockdown and it is still on the shelf. PM me for the plans as I only have them on paper. The LIAM was done by a a friend who did chip carving.

Just tried using the online Stencil Maker and it saves the pattern as an image so you have to all sorts of changes to make work

Using Steve's Key Chain maker is not quite the same. I am using the desk top version and was able to print to the "Microsoft to Pdf" Saved to my desk top. Opened in Inkscape and they selected the name. You then have to ungroup (OBJECT>Ungroup) Select the name only a drag away. (There is a blank object on top) Do same process as previous. You get some horizontal lines to ignore)

The neat thing about Steve's pattern is that you can open in Inkscape and get pattern page. Usually it is just a matter of selecting the Image, right click on the red colour at bottom, set stroke. You have to then make sure stroke size is okay. I usually set to 3 or 4 pts. Below image is todays pattern. the stoke ended up at inches for it looks okay. I will do a key chain and post separately.

Covid-19 lockdown has really curtailed our social life as we used to follow our grandkids at their sport games. We have 2 grandsons who play AAA hockey and AAA baseball and a granddaughter who plays elite Lacrosse. There was always games nearly every night of the week and lots of tournaments to go to. We made trips to a number of tournaments all over southern Ontario and New York state. We also went to a couple of lacrosse tournaments in Ohio too. In 2020 NONE and we are not sure what is ahead for 2021. I have made personalized sports key racks for all the kids and a number for the team to auction off. In the last year none. Here are a few sample of the ones I have pictures of. I have probably made 25 and many more patterns. Miss making these.

Quite sure the main font is Scroll_calligraphy. (May have come from Free4All way back when) The "M" is a variant of Old_English. Looks like it may been altered to make it cuttable. I started. Send me a PM if I can help.

I have just been cutting some owls in 3/4 read oak (I think) and have been using Flying Dutchman Ultra Reverse #3. Cuts easily and what I like is the edges are completely smooth and requires no sanding at all.

You don't say were you are from. In Canada I would inquire how service would be obtained if required on a Pegas. I have and older Excalibur EX-21 and it has been a workhorse for over 10 years. In the USA I would look at the Seyco as it has a great reputation for the machine and the service. See Steve Goods post today. In Canada, I would look carefully at the King as it made is the same shop as the old EX-21 and King has service all over.

Looks great Frank. I have made that basket awhile ago and it gets used all the time. I agree about Steve Good. I don't know what I would do if Steve was not the patriarch of scrolling. Everyone should make sure they donate every once and awhile.

Frank. - Love the stains. I only have a couple of colours of Saman stain. On the shopping list for when ever this isolation is over. Look great.

When doing a pattern with layers like the Santa from Steve Good yesterday when I cut the backer and then the front and then any errors will shows. I am not perfect. Do get around this when ever possible I stack cut front and back. Match perfectly that way. Step 1. With the Santa pattern I put all the pieces on the backer. I used Inscape but I guess you could do manually. Made backer red. . Step 2. Cover the back piece with painters tape on one side. Add painters tape to both sides of the front piece. Step 3. Put a few drops of CA (medium) to back. Spray the back of the front with accelerator. Step 4. Press together and apply pattern to front. Step 5. Cut out the outside edge of pattern and separate. The painters tape will come off the backer and the back of the front. Step 6. cut all the front pieces like normal. The red is now waste and when you glue the individual pieces to the backer they will fit perfectly. I will show the final product it bragging rights as it is being painted and Steve just posted Mrs Claus which I will do the same way.

I did the pattern The name is in Ancestory SF, and the date in Calisto Mt Bold (similar to Times but bolder)

Atlas Machinery are good people to deal with but you will have to deal with Shipping. There are lots of King Canada dealers and service centers (especially in PQ). I think the $999 price is by King it is in there flyer but you never know. Good Luck.

Welcome to the village. Where in the great white north. I am in Brooklin Ontario just East of Toronto. I have an older Excalibur that was built by General before the great confusion set in. I love my EX-21 and have used most every day for last 10 years. If I was looking today in Canada I would be looking at the King. Made in same shop at the EX-21. It comes in 16, 21 and 30. Pegas would be a strong contender except for the cost. Pegas 1075+foot pedal (46) plus stand (113) plus HST + delivery King 21 999 (foot pedal included) + $100 stand + HST ( depending where you are you may be able to pick up).

Thanks to Steve Good for last weeks patterns. I like to do "dimensional" patterns and last week was right down my alley. Along came Fred, and then Fred Junior and Fred III. I also liked the gnomes.

I second the box. I did the one with my wives initial K awhile ago. What looks like the band saw box I did on the scroll saw. Sue Mey has some lovely fretwork boxes. Steve Good has lots too. You say "girlfriend/wife" maybe a small box with appropriate jewelry inside.

If you are a newbie cutting 1/8 Baltic Birch on it own is difficult. It is easier to control the blade when cutting 1/8 material when you stack cut. You get more resistance and more control.
