  1. Thank you very much, Danny. I am happy that you like it. Dick heppnerguy
  2. If you saw my reply to Dave Monk, you can see why I do not think one could make two at a time. Dick heppnerguy
  3. I suppose one could stack cut. But the pattern has a lot of mandatory stack cutting already. Most piece are required to make 4 of them. That sort of leaves stack cutting out for my. I would not want to stack cut 8 at a time. Not something as delicate as this one is. Dick heppnerguy
  4. Thank you.. I have to say that you impress me with your every post. Dick heppnerguy
  5. I PM you about the text Dick heppnerguy
  6. I don't use my table saw, I use my miter saw. I don' think I could even come close with my table saw Dick heppnerguy
  7. I finally made me a frame and cut the word 'Mitchell" into the pattern. So just for anyone that might be wondering how it came out in the end. Here you go Dick heppnerguy
  8. What a nice touch. People who are creative can come up with some additional things they add to their works and makes it some extra special. This is the kind of talent that I see you have. This is the kind of thing that passes me up continually. You will be turning out a lot of interesting things in the future also, I just know that. Dick heppnerguy
  9. you are doing a really fine job with your intarsia pieces. It amazes me how many scrollers seem to be a little afraid to do intarsia. It is really easier cutting, for the most part. You keep on making and posting them and perhaps you will inspire others to give it a try Dick heppnerguy
  10. thank you for the education. I was in total dismay. Since I have never been exposed to cross stitching and you showed so much wood, I just could not figure it out. Now I understand. Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me. I had to make myself look really stupid with my remarks but it was worth the embarrassment to learn Dick heppnerguy
  11. I decided to cut a couple of Steve Good patterns, today. I liked the little boxes of his because it was one of this type of boxes that made me get interested in scrolling in the first place. I had been cutting intarsia pieces and loved how they turned out but found I was getting a little bored with them when I saw a heart shaped box that looked like it was woven that caught my interest. I always that that scrolling was just cutting an uninteresting outline of something and I just knew I did not want to do that. Well when I saw this little box, it reminded me of how I got into this whole affair and knew I had to cut it for that reason. Someone else posted one of these a few days ago and sparked my thoughts about wanting to do one, so here is my version. I did extend the base a little and stained the top and bottom to add a little interest to it. The other piece I liked a lot better and had a really fun time cutting it. I used a #3 Pegus blade on it. I decided to paint the backer board, which is the opposite piece that Steve Good darkened and after I was done with it, I decided I liked his version better. But this hobby is full of experimenting and learning so It is what it is. Dick hepperguy
  12. Frames are tough to do perfectly. I have been trying my hand at them lately. I do believe I am starting to figure out the simpler ones, so maybe I will take a shot at a little more difficult frames in the future. Looks like you have them figured out well I also like this pattern. You did a nice job cutting and finishing your piece. It looks really nice Dick heppnerguy
  13. I always like to remember that scrolling is an ever learning process. Just about the time you think you have everything figured out, something happens to make you understand you don't. I guess that is the kind of lesson that God shows us now and then when we are trying to do everything on our own and are ignoring Him. The plaque turned our really beautiful. I still have that one on my to do list Dick heppnerguy
  14. very nice job and a pattern type that I love cutting. It is so clean and yet gives you an outstanding piece when finished with it. I would admire that one on my wall if I had cut it. Keep up the good work Dick heppnerguy
  15. Nicely done. I was going to suggest about the going back with a spiral blade through the veining. I do the same thing. A good trick and it helps a lot to use the flat blade on them first. Makes way nicer and straighter cuts. your little guy made you push your envelop and venture into something you may had strayed from had you really looked over the pattern more closely. I had a gal order some pieces from me that I was fearful of cutting a couple of years ago and found, like you, that I was able to do more then I thought I could. It is these little mile stones that builds unknown confidence in ourselves. Great job. Dick heppnerguy
  16. nice pattern and a really good job cutting it. Way to go.. it is brownie buttons for this one Dick heppnerguy
  17. Very nice pieces. I used to get a lot of free, kiln dried cedar from my son who uses it to manufacture custom garage doors for his customers. Since I now live in Arizona instead of Oregon, I no longer have that luxury. I also enjoy making fret crosses but I do not remember seeing this pattern anywhere. It looks like a Sue Mey pattern to me. Dick heppnerguy
  18. There must be more to it then I can understand. I look at all the many pieces you cut and then ended up with what appears to be a rather small project, which of course it can not be. I know it is just my ignorance of what this is all about. Has me baffled I have to admit. Obviously, I do not understand cross stitching frames. Never knew they had such a thing. Not sure how you were able to figure it all out Dick heppnerguy
  19. My hat is off to you, Alex. This proves that you are an even better scroller then I imagined. I love trying fret patterns that that one looks rather scary to me. The most difficult cuts are the ones made in that thin of wood, at least for me. You left me with my mouth open in awe. What a beautiful clock and magnificent workmanship. Dick heppnerguy
  20. So glad your wife had you add the little animals hidden in the tree. It sure shows your attention to the detail. I can not imagine it could be any nicer than yours, no matter who cut it. Dick heppnerguy
  21. Paul, Another one of your great cuts. I have yet to find one of yours that is not perfect. (pun intended). I have seen probably all or at least most of your work and it just reinforces my mediocre scrolling that I do. You are the best. Sure glad I have you for a friend Dick heppnerguy
  22. I am not a golfer, but I know a few. I buy a lot of my Patterns directly from Sue Mey's sight. If you register and log in before you purchase from her, she will save your purchase orders and you can always go back and redownload any patterns you may have lost at no extra cost. Besides that, you have your pattern on your computer in minutes at no extra cost too. Can't beat that. I like you golfer clock and I just may go and purchase it from her also. Thanks for sharing your wood story and your great little clock you made. I enjoyed both Dick heppnerguy
  23. I like those old birds also. I am going to try a pattern of my own before too long, I think Dick heppnerguy
  24. You can do it.. it just takes a little more time to do then most items. Just take it slow and easy and you will find it quite satisfying when you are finished. At least that is how it works for me. Push that envelop Dick heppnerguy
