  2. How much fun is this project? sometimes the little simple things just stand out and that is how this one is for me Dick heppnerguy
  3. Awesome and very original. Originality is something I always look for and acknowledge, as it is something I do not have much talent to do, myself Dick heppnerguy
  4. WOW some delicate scrolling. Those letters and leaves are pretty dang small and everything is so perfectly executed. Dick heppnerguy
  5. Well cut pieces and the black walnut is always so perfect to plaques like these. Keep cutting and posting your work, it is delightful to see Dick heppnerguy
  6. Way to go, Ralph. Good to see some more of your work here. I enjoy the projects you make and post. You have a uniqueness that I really enjoy. you are one creative man Dick heppnerguy
  7. Great job on the ornaments. I think your wood choice for these are perfect too. They look very nice Dick heppnerguy
  8. They are really nice. You deserve a pat on the back. Hey the more challenges you cut, the quicker you will notice, they no longer are challenges. You just proved to yourself you can do these. I little stress is not a lot to pay for the rewards you achieved for yourself in completing them. Go do one for yourself now and see how well you enjoyed it this time around Dick heppnerguy
  9. It is really fun and surprising when one cuts their first bowl, as it turns our to be a rather easy one to do and the results are so satisfying too. They look great. I bet you will be trying a lot of different bowl patterns now. I love cutting them Dick heppnerguy
  10. Brenda, I know you can cut thicker wood. Up to 3/4 thick is all about the same. What type of wood are you having trouble with, and what blades have you tried to cut it with? Dick heppnerguy
  11. I recognized the patterns from Steve Good's sight. I have cut them also. you are doing really well. Thanks for posting your work for all of us to view. Keep up the good work Dick heppnerguy
  12. First of all Dan. I have seen a lot of items with crackle paint on several sights, in stores and many people's houses. It is extremely desirable right now, so you pieces should bring in some extra work for you, I am guessing. Interesting to hear about making your own crackle paint. I thought it was one available from a store in a spray can. I also like the font and extra decoration you made for it. Nice pieces, indeed Dick heppnerguy
  13. http://www.finescrollsaw.com/index.htm Have you seen this one? Not sure if it is what you are looking for, but his patterns are really well done. Dick heppnerguy
  14. Nice going, Ike. Shows can make or break you sometimes for many reasons. It feels good when the profits surpasses your expectations Dick heppnerguy
  15. The index finger used for holding down your piece to the table and while using it as a pivot point will help a lot . I see that you use too much freedom for the wood in the way you are feeding it to the blade. Like others above have mentioned, you can also use your index finger to put some back pressure on your blade when you are pivoting it. Remember the blade can not cut unless you are applying pressure upon it. Dick heppneruguy
  16. From what I hear, Hegner is unbeatable. Congratulations on a great saw. What a nice addition to anyone's shop Dick heppnerguy
  17. Glad to have you on board here. You may have already discovered that this is a very friendly, encouraging and helpful group of people here. You work is very well done and I will be looking forward to seeing other things you do in the future. Be sure and look at all the nooks and crannies here in The Village, as there are a lot of things here for everyone. Dick heppnerguy
  18. Impressive and a fun piece to look at too. You did a really great job on this one, for sure Dick heppnerguy
  19. These will keep you busy every year, I would venture to guess. Nice pieces, remaking memories every year the ornaments are opened Dick heppnerguy
  20. These are very nice. You can bet these will be placed on the trees, every year for a long time to come Dick heppnerguy
  21. Wow great job.. must have taken some thinking to figure out how to make this request work out well. YOU NAILED IT, for sure. Dick heppnerguy
  22. Marg, You did yourself proud with your signs. It is not wonder at all that you sold so many of them. They are done as well as they could be done. VERN NICE, indeed Dick heppnerguy
  23. Dave, I have two Excalibur saws and I would not trade mine for any saw, Once I started using the first one, I was on the constant watch for another. It is hard to find one on the market and though I feel this guy is a little on the high side, I don't think you would ever feel it was a mistake to buy it. Good luck, I would make sure that he knows you are coming and insures he will hold it for you until you have a chance to check it out. It is a great saw Dick heppnerguy
  24. Moving is an adventure. Moving to Southern Arizona was a big move for us too. It takes awhile to get everything settled in and running again but it is also a fun challenge getting there. We love our new home and I hope you continue to feel the same about yours Dick heppnerguy
  25. I was going through some of my old photos and came across the piece I made and sent to you or your avitar. I was wondering where you have been. Glad you are back again on the scene. WELCOME BACK, my friend Dick heppnerguy
