  5. Welcome to The Village. Are you looking for just this letter or are you looking for other's as well? If you do go to the suggested forum to learn how to make your own patterns and sometimes there seems to be a lot to learn quickly. If you do get lost or things do not happen as you expect them to, just comment for some help and you will be surprised as to how many friendly people do come to your help Dick heppnerguy
  6. John, We all are very glad you decided to join our group. You will find everyone to be extremely helpful and friendly here. I will be helpful to you and to us, for you to log on often so we can learn more about one another and so you will learn who the regulars are and then you will quickly become comfortable with everyone. So a big WELCOME from Oregon. I will soon be a lot closer to you because we are in the process of moving to Arizona. Be sure and ask any questions you may have about scrolling, like what blades to use, how to download a pattern or upload your projects, should you not understand it. Check out the other forums and add a comment or two as you do this. Dick heppnerguy
  7. I would love to see the photo also. It sounds like a very interesting project to me. I hope I can find time to get to you FB page, before I forget about it. I might suggest that you PM Travis Cook about your photo posting problems. I am sure he can help you understand what you need to do to get that done. He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Dick heppnerguy

  12. i guess relaxation comes with experience on doing about anything. Like learning to drive a car. I can remember how tired my hands would become in a short time, when I first started. Now I find driving and scroll sawing very relaxing. I guess I never even realized when i transitioned and was relaxed as I cut and as i drove. I have to say that I have never become as relaxed as Amazing Kevin, because i have never fallen asleep while cutting something on my scroll saw. Dick heppnerguy
  13. I double that.. You must have been looking over my shoulder and only remembered 'what not to do'. I am not sure what kind of glue you are using to glue on the backer board but I use a regular wood glue and was able to take it to the sink and using a pretty damp rag, I have been able to remove the glue without any trouble at all.. Just waited for the wood to dry and tried to make sure that doesn't happen again.. but it has anyway, later on in another project.. Dick heppnerguy
  14. I am trying to locate the wonderful inlay tutorial that Jim Finn made on inlaying. I thought I had it saved but it will not open. I really need to locate it. If someone can direct me to it, I will be indebted forever Dick heppnerguy
  15. I have to say that I have purchased a lot of very small bits from HF and I am happy with all of them...Not sure why they will not work for others as well as they do for me.. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I can assure you, Kevin, that Mahendra is indeed in India. We have corresponded quite a bit and have become friends as a result Dick heppnerguy
  17. Jim Finn and Ron Johnson are both super craftsmen and you can always rely on any in put you can get from them. Jim Finn posted a detailed article here in The Village that will step anyone through the process of inlay. Jim has probably done more inlay than everyone else here, combined.. Dick heppnerguy
