We should be up your way early this week to pick up Sharon's new glasses from Costco so I will be giving you a call and see if we can come be your place and see the saw and the clock..   7. I have used food coloring on some of my pieces when I want a blended or soft look..It works quite well for me too. but the backer board needs a little more solid look as it is often what makes the scrolling really stand out..that is why I use the stain. Dick heppnerguy

  13. nicely done and the colorization is perfect.. some times painted items appear to mess up the project, if they are not applied correctly. You got this one right, for sure. It turned into an extremely nice piece. Dick heppnerguy

  16. I still remain amazed at the fabulous work you turn out. I love the soft paint job you do with your air brush.. still trying to figure out mine Dick heppnerguy

I use a rub on stain instead of painting because it still leave a glue-able surface and it goes on with a throw away piece of paper towel so no clean up.Also I am stain the edge of the backer board without worrying about getting in on the back of it. plus it goes on even and drys very quickly Dick heppnerguy

  19. If you have any cabinet shops near you, go there and ask of some throw away scrap wood, They throw out a lot of nice wood that is too small for their use but perfect for yours. Also you might check Craigslist under the 'free' category and you should find all kinds of furniture there. If you have a planer,you are in business Dick heppnerguy

  21. Welcome to THE VILLAGE. You sue have done a fine job with your first scroll saw pieces. If you are this successful from the beginning efforts, I am pretty sure you are already hooked on scrolling. My wife and I had exchange high school students from Germany and were able to attend their high school graduation a couple of years ago. One lived in Limberg and the other in Hamberg. It is such a beautiful country and we loved the wonderful Germany people. So log on often and ask any questions you may have, several will people will most likely chime in to help you with an answer. I hope you looked at our large pattern library, as it is filled with free patterns to download and add to your inventory and cut as you find time to. Dick heppnerguy
