  1. they look great... I really like the font used here...adds a lot of eye appeal to them Dick heppnerguy
  2. well cut...He should like it a lot... the suggestion that Fab4 made, should not be taken as a criticism but as a helpful suggestion.. When one starts scrolling these things happen quite a bit but after awhile the trained eye understands this will happen and stops short of completing an enclosed area, causing it to become a large hole instead of a number. the eye usually imagines that the line extends to the end, even though it does not. You did a great job cutting this out and you desire to feel very proud of you work Dick heppnerguy
  3. That is how I would handle it also Dick heppnerguy
  4. Looks like you talents come through, even with your new wood burning.. I bet we will see a lot of that incorporated in your newer scrolled pieces.. Very nice, especially for a first one.. Dick heppnerguy
  5. I guess I am going to have to get some of those meds you are on so my work quality can get a little closer to yours.... Very nicely done... I like them all Dick heppnerguy
  6. Thanks for the nice words, everyone.. I am so glad that I have the ability to share my humble woodworking with others and experience the joy of seeing them appreciate the things I give them. I continue to have people come to me and thank me for something I gave to them and i say to myself, ' I don't even recall making that for them' , but it still feels good to know they liked it enough to remember me for them. Dick heppnerguy

  8. Relax, Kevin..........take a deep breath......everything does not need to be done in one day.....finishing is a real lesson in itself........light coats.....wait............................................not yet, wait longer....................................give things a chance to dry....................................................now that it has been sitting for several hours, you can give it a light sanding and another THIN coat of finish...........................wait......................................wait....................................repeat above steps................................................................wait................................................................wait.........................................there, now it is starting to look nice and even....way to go, Kevin I think you get the picture...If any one should understand this, it should be you....You can't hurry the finish part and have good success.........Sorry for your troubles, but take it as a good lesson learned.. Dick heppnerguy
  9. Don, It is nice to have talented and generous people who are willing to share their talents to us so that we can use it and share our talents with others because we can use the pattern talents of our family here. You did Paul's pattern justice and I know it also makes Paul feel really good that someone enjoyed the pattern he did enough to cut it and share the finished product.. Don, your cross looks really nice, I am sure others will also want to cut this pattern too , because you shared yours with us Dick heppnerguy
  10. I will let you know what information I can get from Bill Dick
  11. A young lady, here in Heppner, has her first baby on March 21st. We have known this gal for over 10 years and she is a wonderful person. Her life has not always been easy for her but when we found out she had her baby, I knew I had to make this baby cross. Because she had a girl, I had to paint the backer board pink. This is not the pink shade I was looking for but it does well in helping the cross work stand out. I hope she enjoys having this little gift.. Dick heppnerguy
  12. Kevin, You never stop......but how can you when the orders keep coming and coming and coming??? Good job, buddy Dick heppnerguy
  13. Brian, Your work is outstanding. I love all of them. They are very nice and a tribute to Steve Good as well as to yourself Dick heppnerguy
  14. John, I can not imagine there is anyone on this site or any other site that is as able as you are, to be able to attest that they too have even come close to the accomplishment that you have achieved with your scrolling. You will surely receive many blessing from your generosity and desire to do for others. You are a remarkable man and a true hero of all our scrolling family. Thank you for what you do for handicapped in your area and the inspirations that you give to so many others to maybe consider some donations of their art for the benefit of others. You certainly humble me Dick heppnerguy
  15. I do not believe so......Bill and Susan do have a son, but he is also an officer in the corp, I have never heard mention of a relative of his that also served in the Marines, I will ask them though. ....it would be interesting if it was so Dick heppnerguy
  16. Paul, You will just have to start yours as "TIME" permits....pun intended Dick heppnerguy
  17. Because I enjoyed making the two marine plaques for my friends and they gave me a $100 extra tip for my time spent making them, I decided the least I could do was to make and include this name plaque as a 'THANK YOU' for the nice order.. Dick heppnerguy
  18. I have not posted anything for over a week or so. I have been traveling and taking my wife to the eye doctor but in between, I have really been working in my shop also. You may remember that I had an order for 2 Marine symbols from a friend who is buying them to give to a couple of Marine friends, retiring this year after a life hitch in the U S Marines. Well, I finally got it finished, so here is a photo of it, just to prove I am making some saw dust now days Dick heppnerguy

  23. Jerry, we are all pulling for a complete recovery on your back. Please do not over do it. Take a lot of breaks. We want to see you doing your work in comfort and not in stress. Dick Heppnerguy
