  1. sorry to here about your father's health problem. i have been looking after my wife too. It is a pleasure to be able to serve your loved ones when they need you. I will pray for your father starting right now Dick heppnerguy
  2. Keith, you are too funny, and of course, Roly isn't about to stand by and play second fiddle to anyone's comments.. You have to love being involved with this group of people. oh, I am going to try the toothbrush thing first them the stiff brush if I need more aggressive efforts. Dick heppnerguy
  3. Oh no....did the 'B' break out ? It looks like it on the second photo.. But it is still very distinguishable so it should work ok Dick heppnerguy
  4. My wife requests some of the cedar for your dresser drawers, but I never thought to scroll them into something that looks nice too. and thanks for the sanding tip, I did not know that Dick heppnerguy
  5. Glad you approve that I made those changes. Thanks again for your help Dick heppnerguy
  6. It looks great.. and it certainly will get noticed, Not only is it a beautiful piece but with a commanding size. Dick heppnerguy
  7. great idea, I love your creativeness. You do nice work, always. Now i have an idea what to do with some of the scrap wood I have been throwing away Dick Heppnerguy
  8. they make special push sticks for this machine too. I hope you have them if not they are not very expensive and easy to find. I had one for years and never really used it. I finally gave it to someone for helping me build a deck cover. Since then, I have found uses for it and sometimes wish I still did have it, ain't that the way the world turns ? Dick heppnerguy
  9. First I want to thank DonR for coming up with a pattern for the World Cup winners, which as everyone knows is Germany. DonR took the German Foosball federation symbol and topped it with Brazil (where the games were held) and 2014 (which of course was this years games). I found that to be a good starting place but it really did not say what I wanted it to say. so, I got on Inkscape and remade the pattern DonR had posted for me, so that I could add to it and make changes as i wanted. In place of Brazil, I placed the German words welt-cup- stieger. Which if my translator translated it correctly, means World Cup Winner. So thank you very much for all your help, Paul. and I hope you like the end results. I also added a backer board, which will give it added support in mailing and I was able to place a hanger on the backer board. Dick heppnerguy PS I doubt that anyone wants the pattern, but in case we have a German soccer fan out there that would like it, let me know and I will be happy to post my pattern for you.
  10. I just viewed your video and it is easy to see that you are a fun person. Your instrument is wonderful. i saw one in Germany a couple of years ago. I videoed the guy and his monkey but he obviously did my wish me to do that. But I enjoyed seeing and hearing his instrument as I also did yours. Great pieces, I am glad I was able to see them. You sure have a nice, clean and organized shop. You probably would go home with a headache if you saw mine. Dick heppnerguy
  11. Hey Robbert, Did you cut this with your hand saw ? Dick heppnerguy
  12. I love your clock, finished or not..this will get a lot of nice comments by everyone who comes into your house and sees it. You did a really nice job cutting it. I hope when you get it all finished and the bells in place, that you post another photo of it for all of us to see Dick heppnerguy

  16. I received an email from Homer and Carol telling me about Dirk's death. i probably would understand who he was if I saw some of his works but off the top, I am like Kevin and have no clue. I thought that if he was a SSV member that we might want to start a collection for his wife. I guess that would be up to Travis. I will wait and see what come of this, if anything. It happened in the middle of celebrating thier wedding anniversary and her birthday, if I read it correctly. How sad it that. At least his wife had some immediate support for her when it happened. Dick heppnerguy
  17. You continue to produce one item after another and all are really nice and fun to look at. Great job..You Rock Dick heppnerguy
  18. a fun hobby to have and everyone that does not scroll things you are some kind of genius because of the things you turn out. I my case I do not consider myself as either a genius or an artist. Just someone who found out 'I can do that". and it works for me. I can make gifts that says 'I love you" and I can create something that is not in the stores, for every occasion. The best part is I get to find peace and relaxation while I scroll away..Can't beat that. Nice pieces Phil. I am glad that you find it relaxing too Dick heppnerguy
  19. I particularly like the outline style of the Jesus word. I will have to give that one a go.. Thanks for another great idea. Dick heppnerguy
  20. I need to do a clock and stop being such a cheap guy. I like it and it has a dual purpose. Dick heppnerguy
  21. I guess we will be calling you the bowl lady. You keep surprising me with your skill and efforts. I love looking for what you are going to do next. What time does the next ferry leave ? Just a Puget sound thing Dick heppnerguy
  22. I see some really good advice here. Thanks Paul for the chart. I will print one just as a helpful guide whenever I am going to tackle something new in thicknesses Dick heppneguy
  23. I have found the double tooth blade like the penquin is a lot less aggressive and a lot easier to control. I really think that a backer board is your best friend here. If you really do have one, maybe you should take a look in the phone book and see if you can find a cabinet shop around where you live and go visit them. they usually have scrap wood that is filling their dumpster and would be happy to let you have at it, as long as you assure them that you will not leave any messes behind. My thought is with you, if I have to cut only the 1/8 inch stock, I want a #3 or less penquin and make me cuts slow and easy. That is my take. You have to try different things and see what works for you. The really small blades seem to take special care when cutting corners because if you watch your blade you will see it takes a moment for the blade to straighten out and be ready to cut the direction you have in mind. I hope you understand what I mean. Just one old mans oppinion Dick heppnerguy
  24. I ran across this sight. I am not interested in branding any of my pieces so I really did not read this but only glanced over it. This guy shows you how to make your own branding piece for under $25 not sure it is worth looking at or not but there it is if you wish to http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-woodburning-brand/ Dick heppnerguy
  25. Thank you, Paul, for your understanding and nice comments. I hate to take anything from someone's hard work. I feel a little guilty but now I feel a little better I fell in love with this pattern as soon as I saw it Dick heppnerguy
