  2. Welcome to The Village. I have not personally seen your masks but rest assured that I will in a moment. You have sparked some quick interest already. We all hope to see you around here often. This place is full of great people and also some like myself, but every family has one of me in it somewhere. Time to check out your work. Glad you are one of us now Dick heppnerguy
  3. Welcome to The Village. I know you will enjoy scrolling and you will find that if you follow the hints here and start with the easy things first, you will find that things will quickly work out for you. I would suggest that you stay away from the really delicate fret work, at the beginning and push you skills a little at a time. the thinner the wood you use the more difficult it is to cut, at least for me. and the blades you use are very important for your success. If you are using blades you buy at the box stores, try something different. You can find several sources for blades on line and there are some you can buy from listed here on The Village. If you have a problem finding them, just ask. Suggestion : don't use a blade for too long, they will easily stray from your intended line when they are dull. A rule of thumb is a blades life is somewhere around a half hour. Don't push them too hard. I, personally like the double tooth blades because they are not as aggressive and for me, much more manageable. Eventually you will find the perfect blade for you. There are many choices and one blade is not the choice of everyone. Good luck, Come back often, Explore our sight. make a lot of sawdust and do not get discouraged. Dick heppnerguy
  4. nice job, Kevin, I particularly like the font you used too. Do you know the name of the font ? It is a nice choice for this piece of art heppnerguy Dick
  5. Thanks , Travis that did help some.. I am still looking I had one called something like 'free4all' or something like that. I got it from the Spokane sight that went down about a year ago. I would like to get that one again too, if there is a way to do so heppnerguy Dick
  6. Is there a place where I can find a list of scrollable fonts to download. I had quite a few but now I am struggling to find any. Any further help with this would be wonderful. I have been on some of the font web pages but there are so many that I could spend of century looking for one. If there is a list of usable fonts posted somewhere here in The Village, I would be very pleased if someone might be able to direct me to them. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide me. heppnerguy Dick
  7. Thanks to both of you..I am going after the font as soon as I post this..I think that is the one I am after, you are a life savor.. Grampa, I completely erased everything and installed everything brand new. No chance to get it back, I am afraid. I thought I had everything backed up but it turned out to only be short cuts. heppnerguy Dick
  8. I had to reboot my computer and i lost a lot of my things. I have an important request and i have lost the font that I need. 11. This little piece just sort of struck my fancy when I saw it. It turned out to be an interesting and fun item to make. It is a new pattern from Steve Good's sight. Everyone that has seen it, really likes it a lot. I even like it. I am in the finishing stages now. I was a truly easy piece to make and I found the 'Fender' name was not nearly as challenging as I thought it was going to be. If you like it, give it a try. Dick heppnerguy
  12. Nicely done. It will be enjoyed for a long time to come. the pattern and the cutter worked as a perfect team to end up with such a great piece Dick heppnerguy
  13. a truly interesting piece, I just might give it a go myself. You obviously did a marvelous job on this one, Frank, or there wouldn't be so many people that want to also cut it. Dick heppnerguy
  14. I see some wood there that I would be happy to take off your hands. glad you are back to cutting up Dick heppnerguy
  15. It took my awhile to understand that same printing error, i hate it when something like that happens. sure screws up your day...Glad to know I am not the only one that has these lessons placed upon me the hard way Dick heppnerguy
  16. I'd love to help you, but I just do not know the answer to this. But you can rest assured you will have your answer very soon Dick heppnerguy
  17. It is always nice to give something to people that are doing for others. and this is a perfect example of letting someone know you care about all the time they spend in all kinds of weather so that our kids are safe crossing the roads. Way to go, Kevin Dick heppnerguy
  18. be sure and tell your mom that i love her too and I need ............ Dick heppnerguy
  19. Robb, I want to extend my sincere welcome to you. You have a great saw, now I would suggest you go slow and easy, but above all, do not do something so difficult that you discourage yourself. I would suggest that you try a few really easy patterns to start with. Once you have the saw and the sawing figured out, then challenge yourself a little. Remember that no matter how hard a newby tries, we will never start off with the skills of someone that have made a hundred or a thousand project, we all learn by doing. Experts are not born, it only comes through a lot of practice. Dick heppnerguy
  20. great sight for everyone to check out. has stuff on almost all saws..thanks for posting this link, Ed Dick heppnerguy
  21. As I understand it, a switch is just a way to break a circuit. So, if you unplug your saw and then take the two wires going to and from the switch and connect them to one another and plug in the saw, the saw should run it the problem is within the switch. First make sure that you have power at your outlet. You can plug in a space heater or a lamp or drill or something like that. If you have power at the outlet and connecting the two switch wires together still does not work, then it could be a broken wire inside the saw. It is easy to dismantle and put back together. It is quite simple to do. There are several videos on the saw and i know someone can direct you to it,if you so desire. If you take it apart take a good look for anything that might have a lot of play or shows signs of metal shavings . that should give you a clue too. If you have a tester you might try to see if there is a break anywhere in the wire with it. Not sure I have the answer to your problem but i hope I have helped you in one way or a another. Good luck, Post again when you figure it out, it could be helpful to myself or other people, later on. Dick heppnerguy
