  1. when you start posting photos of your work it will ask you where you want them to go. once you start get started you can keep posting to the same albums and they sort of develope automatically from there. I believe this is all true, as far as I understand it. If i am wrong, then guess what? We will both learn something and at my expense... Nice to have new people that post and get familiar with the rest of us. I visit here at least twice a day and enjoy the posts . Hey like your hat Dick heppnerguy
  2. Darcy, I love your excitement. You can post,,, meet new people... figure out how to get around here.... take notes and then before you know it you will be posting and having your morning coffee with everyone..and then you become a family member, with siblings living all over the world...how cool is that?
  3. I will give this ornament pattern making a try. I already donated this year in your previous post about it. So I am with DonR. I know my efforts won't come close to Don's but what the heck, at least I am going to be a part of all this. and family is family so let's all get in on this.. Dick heppnerguy
  4. I modified one of Judy Gale Roberts' patterns to come up with what I wanted for gifts for my 2 of my great granddaughter's Christms presents. I thought they would be cute hanging on their bedroom walls. I used cedar and poplar. I used a white pigmented rub on stain to lighten the middle of the paws and feet, they are the exact pieces as the outter parts surrounding the lighter peaces. I never tried that before and it gave me exactly what I was hoping to acomplish. Today I cut, shaped and sanded the second bear and it is ready to glue and finish, hopefully tomorrow.
  5. Kevin, You have quite a collection there. Mot much good in the boxes, maybe you need to drag them out and go put up a table on the city streets and sell some of them. then they can be enjoyed by many others. that would give you Christmas money too. You have some very nice work there. Dick heppnerguy
  6. well then, get off those hands and fire that saw up.. the customers are becoming restless.
  7. I too love to camera/pattern shop. I have a few photos that I am going to make into patterns. It is fun to find an idea and make it into a reality. Especailly for someone like myself that just doesn't seem to be able to come up with much on my own...Thanks for sharing your ornament..Looks like a good one. Dick heppnerguy

I am Dick from Heppner, Oregon. OH, you never heard of Heppner ? No matter, most Oregonian haven't either. It is a very small town in Eastern Oregon and I am the only person I am aware of here, that scrolls. Glad you are here. Dick heppnerguy
  9. Darcy, I don't believe that I have had the pleasure of knowing you prior to now, so i will also welcome you to The Village. I know that since you were obviously here before and now you have returned, you feel comfortable here already. Glad to hear that. We want everyone to feel comfortable and come back often so the newer people like myself can get to know you as the others seem to already. I am anxious to see you logged on here often and see some of your work posted here too. Be sure and drop in for coffee or tea, It is served here on a daily basis and several people hang out in the hosts table to share thoughts and ideas with each other. You will find them toward the end of the sub menus of the forum. Hope to find you there, warming your hands on a cup of, what ever your desire may be. Dick heppnerguy
  10. you just make a family heirloom for someone. It will probably end up on Antique Roadshow in 2116. great job
  11. Barry is right.. you not only get many ideas about doing the same thing but more important, even than the oppinions, is learning that everyone has something to share with others and we can learn something from everyone here. No one has all the answers, except maybe my wife, but she doesn't scroll so no compatition here. Just kidding..I may not be breathing on my own if she ever sees this post
  12. I bet you had that up and cutting about 10 minutes after you posted the photo. Let us know how you like it once you get it running. What kind of saw are you replacing, or is this your first saw? Have fun. Dick heppnerguy PS hey nice shop you have there.
  13. sometimes your saw might make a lot of noise depending on the wood and the blade. I sometimes just try a different blade and all the noise stops. I hope that helps...It could be as simple as that... Dick heppnerguy
  14. I like them too....an easy and fun pattern...nice job
  15. how can anyone not like these little fellows ? love em
  16. well that one came out really nicely. good to look back at ones previous work. It is impossible to remember all the work one does through the years..i forget most of what i have done.. but i don't ever forget that i am still learning .. that is for sure

Nest to your name is a couple of small icons and if one is lit you only have to click on it to see if you have any personal messages. come back often and get to know everyone here. Any questions ? just ask. come back often. Dick heppnerguy
  18. keep us posted on how you like it. I like mine more every time I use it. It became my friend as I learned how to use it all without thinking about anything. Changing rom on e hole to the next is automatic and not a bother, after only a short time of using. same saw that i have. I know someone that has had one for years and and enever used it. I am going to offer him $200 for it.. Hope he bites. I would love to have a second one. You rock.. got make the sawdust pile grow. Dick heppnerguy
  19. put an inflateable cylinder sander on one of the and shape your intarsia pieces with that . Will save your fingures and a trip to the doctor, You know what i mean.. a perfect solution. Dick heppnerguy
  20. Good tip... I will have to figure out a way to w eigh my refrigerator to see if I am on track
  21. I use blue painters masking tape to hold the wood together and then glue stick the pattern on top to the painters tape. that way there is no way for the saw dust to collect under your clear tape, if you use clear tape over all your cuttings then the problem may continue to exsist, After I finish my cuts the blue tape peels off easily and leaves no glue traces to deal with after you finish. Just one more solution that works well for me.
  22. Larry, I would love to see one of your minature log cabins if you can post a photo of one. sounds really intriquing. yoiur work is good so I am hoping that you post one for us. Glad to see you coming back here so soon. Keep coming back. Dick heppnerguy .
