  2. I knew you were blushing...look in the mirror, Travis, your face is all green
  3. Doc, What sort of items do you find sells the best ? I am not too much on craft sales but I do like to browse them and see what other people enjoy doing for hobbies. Is it signs, figures, wood photos, animals... I would not know what to select to make for one of those shows.
  4. good one, Kevin.... Is this a wooden gear clock or one for an insert ? I have a wooden gear clock all cut out but can't seem to find the time to get back to it so I can finish it. (no pun intended)
  5. There is a nice flying stork where a photo of the baby can be placed on intarsia.com It is a simple one to do and a fun one to have on the babies wall. I made one for one of my great grand daughters. Congratulations. You will enjoy her lot.
  6. Good luck,, you do such nice work that I feel pretty sure you will sell a lot of things. e sure to take a small note book and take orders too. Often times that works well for special order items
  7. I like the way the felt gives the ornaments color without having to paint any of them. Do you glue the wood on both sides of the felt? I hope to keep this idea in mind for future items. I think I am a pretty booked up for the rest of the year, right now, but I will use this idea in the future, I am sure. Thanks for taking the time to share your work and ideas.

  11. Welcome to The Village. Since you are a sewer, you will probably find scrolling to be a lot like it. Be sure you don't use blades from the big box stores because they really do not sell the ones you need. If you are not sure about where to find the saw blades you need, just ask here. if you are going to be cutting thin ornaments, you will find that stack cutting will not only be quicker and more productive, but also a lot easier to cut them. Again, any questions, just ask. Don't be afraid to try stack cutting. come back here often and get to know the people here and how to get around this web sight. 14. I also like both of them and it would stifle me if I had to choose one because I even have trouble deciding on what kind of potatoes I order in a restaurant. they are equal in my opinion. heppnerguy
  15. Roly, I hope you do post this pattern here. I have made several 3 dimensional Eiffel towers, which is perfect for compound cutting because it is 4 sided but I would really like to add this pattern to my small collection of patterns and cut it too. I will keep my eyes pealed for it just in case you decide you want to share it with us. Dick
  16. very ambitious task. It came out super. Any woman would be happy to have that on her dressing table.
  17. I don't see how it could have come out any better. really good job and nice item for your shelf, Frank
  18. I often look at a pattern like this one in a book and think, 'that would be a nice pattern to cut' and then if I do decide to buy and cut it, I often find it looks better to me than it did in the pattern magazine. This is a great example of that . I have seen this pattern but I enjoy it way more now that I have seen it finished and can take a closer and larger look at it. Nice job. I like it a lot
  19. great idea. I am sure the kids will remember it long after they grow up. good memories start with good works.

  22. nice pattern, Keith and your usual talent stands out in this product also. Looks great to me too
  23. I am not sure if I figured this problem with the drill bits wondering but I too have had this problem at times. My view on this is, It seem the darker growth rings in the wood is harder than the rest of the wood and when the drill bit starts to cut it's way throught the layers of growth rings, the small and flexible drill bit is deflected by the harder growth rings and thus it takes itself off the intended course because it seeks the easier path of less resistance. There you have my take on this matter. You have to remember that with making these bowls you are using a much thicker material than normal for most scroll saw projects so the drill bit also has more of these growth rings to traverse through. I will check back and see if someone has a different take on this than I do, as this is just the conclusion that I have decided on when faced with this problem in the past. heppnerguy
  24. If you tell us the problem then maybe we can put our heads together and come up with some suggestions. A good place to start
  25. I too have been working on a wooden gear clock for awhile but seem to have a tough time getting back to it. So many things to do.. what kind of problems are you having .. Listing them here will most likely get you to the right person to help you. I have not completed one myself but I know several others have. Welcome to The Village. If you come back often you will soon realize how easy it is to have any question that you may have will get answered. Also the people on this sight are a kick and getting to know them is worth what ever time you spend here. heppnerguy
