  1. thank you. My neighbor appeared to like it just fine. Paul, Sharon is in Heppner right now so she could be with our daughter, Liz who has stage 4 cancer. I was up there with her a couple of weeks ago and ended up having a 2 hour delay at the in Pasco. I did not have a car of my own there so I was unable to go and visit with you but I sure thought about you a lot while I was there. Dick heppnerguy
  2. Oh, this is so thoughtful. hope you can cut one for a nice memory of your dog. Dick heppnerguy
  3. You just made me smile. I just did not particularly like the under part of the pattern. I understood why it was made the way it was but I would have preferred one that was standing. Dick heppnerguy
  4. So sorry to hear about your dog's health problems. We just lost a little dog about 6 months or so ago. It died one night while laying on our bed covers. She was born in our previous house about 12 years ago. My wife really loved that little guy so I understand how it effects an owner when one gets ill. Dick heppnerguy
  5. almost every morning I go to one of my neighbors houses for coffee time with the guys. The guy who hosts it has several of my projects on his wall to display to whomever decides to have coffee that day there. He has a really good friend that has a dog like the one I am posting here, and he wants to send his a plaque of his style dog for Christmas so he went through my patterns and choose this pattern to have me make for him to send to his friend. I personally would not have chosen this particular pattern but he was very positive this was the one he wanted, so here is the results and I have to tell you, He really liked the end project.
  6. Well Kris, what can I say now besides, here is another super great pattern that I am biting at chops wanting to cut this also. Such a cool pattern. Dick heppnerguy
  7. Very cute patterns and as usual, you did a masterful job making them also. Dick heppnerguy
  8. Here is another of your wonderful patterns that I also hope to cut in the near future, if I can get your permission at that time to do so. I have become a big fan of yours. Dick heppnerguy
  9. I believe your videos are very helpful to people that are just starting out with the scroll saw as the more things one can learn the more and better projects they are likely to turn out as time goes by. Thank you for what you do with your videos. Dick heppnerguy
  10. I really enjoy seeing people cutting the cartoon characters of the past. I don't cut many as the younger people whom I would be cutting them for are not familiar with them so I just don't bother, even though I really like them a lot. Dick heppnerguy
  11. Greg, Kris Martinson is a member right here in the village. if you scroll up on the comments on this post of mine you will see that he made a couple of comments to me here. You can click on his post and make a comment to him of go on the top right corner when you first log onto The Village and click on the envelope you see there and write a personal message to him and I am sure he will reply to any of your comments or questions. Dick heppnerguy
  12. It was a lot of fun and made me do a lot of slow careful cutting, but it came out to be a real delight for me, personally. Dick heppnerguy
  13. thank you for your kind comments. I am happy with how it came out and enjoyed the challenge it gave me. Dick heppnerguy
  14. Thank you for the nice comment on the train. I am happy with it and the little changes I made on it was not to correct Kris Martinson's beautiful pattern but only to make it a tiny bit more to my ability that is definitely not up to Kris's work. As far as the bamboo cutting boards, I discovered last night that our local Dollar Tree store has 8 1/2 ? 11 inch bamboo cutting boards for only $1.25 each. I will be buying a stack of those later this week. You might want to check that out if you have one of these stores anywhere near where you live. They surprised me to find them on the side wall where the kitchen tools are hung but way down by the floor. Dick heppnerguy
  15. Thank you so much for your understanding. I saw a couple more of your beautifully done patterns and I will be chatting with you as soon as I have things caught up and can get time to give them a shot. I hope you will allow me to do that as I am becoming a big fan of all your great patterns and hope I will be authorized to give them a try. I promise to get your name listed correctly now, as the pattern maker. Dick heppnerguy
  16. Thank you. I was at our local Dollar Tree last evening and was pleasantly surprised to find they were well stocked with 3/8 thick, 81/2 X 11 inch bamboo cutting boards for only $1.25 each. I will be going back this week and buy myself a stack of them for future use. I have found the B Birch wood has gone up a considerable amount, which was not a surprise, but the thickness of the face board is way thinner and I do not like that. This makes the bamboo even more inviting. Dick heppnerguy
  17. cute one. You are really into the intarsia. I started my scrolling doing intarsia and after several years started to scroll and liked it even more because is does not take so long and is a little cheaper also. I have really enjoyed watching you try different ideas on your scroll saw and how much you obviously enjoy each step on this journey. Keep up the great work. Dick heppnerguy
  18. First of all, thank you for the nice comment on my project. As far as the #3 Pegas spiral blades goes, I really enjoy cutting with them a lot. I have found that I tend to have a lot of breakage with the #1 spirals, especially if I am cutting a large pattern with a lot of fine and small cuts. Because the entry hole is so small I tend to get the blades bent trying to put them into the holes and it causes the blades to get a bend in them. This, of course, causes premature braking of the blade. Using a #3 bade I reduce the amount of early breakage, as they are much stronger than the #1 spiral. So if I am able to use the #3 spiral, I prefer to do so. Dick heppnerguy
  19. Thank you so much. I continue to try to do my best and as I am starting to get up there in age,{almost 86 now} It seems to be more challenging every time I go to my shop. Dick heppnerguy
  20. Coming from you, my friend, That is a really big compliment as your cutting ability makes mine look like a beginners. THANK YOU PAUL Dick heppnerguy
  21. thank you, Dave. Those words are very encouraging to me. Dick heppnerguy
  22. I am also happy that I used the bamboo as it is an interesting medium that I am probably going to use more often, especially in patterns with a lot of challenges in them. Also I want to thank you for the nice comment on my work as you and I both know, your projects far exceeds my efforts. Dick heppnerguy
  23. Thank you so much for your kind words. I love the challenges in Kris's patterns and love to give them a crack. I usually do not do every single little cutting and often change things, just a little, if I think it doesn't have enough of a bridge and might break if I cut it exactly. I like the way it came out as well as it did on this effort. Dick heppnerguy
  24. I am really sorry about not understanding your name properly. I hope I have it correct now. I got confused and I am not even sure how that happened. I got it now though. You and I are on the same page with only cutting one at a time and about sharing our work with others. Thank you for approving my cutting and allowing me to take a crack at it. I am really happy to know I have things where they belong. I especially like that you are not hurt by some of the small things I did a little different than you did. You skills far exceeds mine and I appreciate your accept my efforts on my efforts to cut your beautiful patterns. Dick heppnerguy
