  1. I think enough to make it a little more interesting. Thank you for your comment Dick heppnerguy
  2. I got started on some tuck ins for family members. This is a Sue Mey pattern that I thought would make a nice small add on gift for family members this year. I cut this on 1/4 inch bambo, using a #1 Pegas spiral blade. The come in several different internal parts and this is the one I will be be gifting for family members that do not have young kids any longer. When I finish this one I will cut a different one for those that do have young children and I will post that one in a couple of days from now. I will have some where in the neighborhood of approximately maybe 20 to cut all together. Looks like I will be buying more of these blades soon as I only have about a dozen left, I believe. 3. I had fun trying my air brush and learned a little from this effort. The leg holes blew all over the place and I lost a couple of pieces. thank you for your pattern use. Sorry I was unable to do a better job. I hope to keep using my AB so I can do a much better job in the future. Dick heppneguy
  4. thank you. That was exactly why I had to give it a try. Not super happy with it but glad I g ave it a shot. Dick heppnerguy
  5. It was fun to cut and hang on my shop wall to show it to others there.. It is truly a cute little critter Dick heppnerguy
  6. I didn't even come close to Franks talented work but I am happy that I did cut it. Dick heppnerguy
  7. It is just so cute I had to give it a shot. Dick heppnerguy
  8. "When I saw Frank's turtle pattern he made I had to ask him if it was ok to make one also. He said it was and sent me the pattern. When I saw this one I knew right away that I would have to make one, if only to hang in my shop to get some smiles. Because this was not for anyone particular, I decided I did not need to cut every detail so I choose to just cut the accent circles on the legs and not bother to try and paint all of them. I also decided I would cut the eyes without the whites but I definitely would put those in the eyes as I realized it added so much to the final project. So thank you Frank for letting my give this a try. As you can see I am still attempting to use my air brush. A long way to go but at least I am trying to learn Dick heppnerguy
  9. I thought for a moment about m a king one for our kitchen but then I rethought it because I would probably be the first and only one to actually die from a meal served from our kitchen. You might feed your food to your dog before you eat any just to be sure it is still safe Dick heppnerguy
  10. Nicely done. A definite eye catcher too. I too thank your husband for his service Dick heppnerguy
  11. that was one of my thoughts also. Dick heppnerguy
  12. actually the framing went quite well for me as I usually struggle a lot with making a frame. Maybe just maybe I am starting to catch on to making them in my old age. I guess my next attempt will tell the story. Thanks for you nice response to my project Dick heppnerguy
  13. I have to say, I have a lot of respect for you and your using a hand powered saw. I guess it is a little bit like most scrollers give up on first of second try with a spiral blade but with a little time spent with a spiral, it becomes a go to blade in a lot of cases. So not giving up and taking time to learn to use a hand powered scroll saw all depends on how much one wishes to learn to use one. That is what I get from what you are telling me and I can testify the same with using a spiral. I still respect you as 'over the top' scroller. Dick heppnerguy
  14. a lot of cutting and gluing in this project. Well done. Dick heppnerguy
  15. a very thought out and thoughtful project for your grandchild. Nicely done also Dick heppnerguy
  16. this is a very interesting and imaginative project. I can't even imagine trying to cut something like this without a scroll saw. You are amazing to say the least. Dick heppnerguy
  17. Steve Good helped to start my interest in scrolling as I always imagined scrolling to be a simple outline of a heart or cat and I found that to be boring. I stumbled on to his facebook and have been enjoying it every since. Dick heppnerguy
  18. Thanks for the nice comment. It was not a really difficult project as much as it was perfect for my granddaughter because she has always been fascinated with giraffes. Dick heppnerguy
  19. Thank you so much for the nice comments. I appreciate that you take you time to do this. Dick heppnerguy
  20. Thank you. I don't need to tell you, it is not a particularly difficult project but I made it for a couple of reasons. One, I have enjoyed the pattern since I first saw it and I have never gotten around to cutting it and two, It fits right in to what my granddaughter loves and that being giraffes. Dick heppnerguy
  21. Thanks Paul. I hope that she will. Not especially difficult. More to hitting on what she likes in her life. Dick heppnerguy
  22. That was what I too saw in the Botus pattern. I have been wanting to cut it for quite awhile. Can't wait to see what my granddaughter has to say when she receives it. Dick heppnerguy
  23. I have a granddaughter who has a thing for giraffes so I have made her several different ones during her growing up years. I ran across this Botus pattern that I have had for some time and never got around to cutting it. Her birthday is about 2 weeks away and I know she will like it so I got busy and cut it for her. It is ready to be mailed in a few days Dick heppnerguy
  24. I also saw these on Steve Good's page. Yours is a great example and well done. Dick heppnerguy
