  1. It does indeed to appear quite changing to be cutting the long part without it breaking. No one really would know it was supposed to be longer if they were not told that anyway. I think you did a marvelous job on them Dick heppnerguy
  2. Nicely done.. I saw that pattern too. I used to hunt but gave it up years ago. Dick heppnerguy
  3. nice find. These will give you some good projects in the near future. Dick heppnerguy
  4. Another great pattern and cut. You come up with the most interesting patterns and finished pieces. Thanks again for sharing this. Dick heppnerguy
  5. I have that pattern also and have made a couple of them too. I also like the wood choice you made on it. Dick heppnerguy
  6. What a great chess set and board. I ply chess almost every day with my neighbor. I also made a chess set but I have yet to make a board. Looks like a great Christmas gift idea. You did a splendid job on yours. Dick heppnerguy
  7. works for both. Where is the pattern available. I would like to make one for my grandson who is getting married this year. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I like this little guy. Puzzles are fun and easy to cut while giving those who wish, a fun small project to put together at the same time. Well done. Dick heppnerguy
  9. both are nicely done and appealing to look at. Dick heppnerguy
  10. I am going to have to give at least one of these dogs a try and I want to add that I love the color combination of the restaurant sign. All are fabulous. Dick heppnerguy
  11. I am glad you made the newer efforts for that is the only way we really improve on our projects or at the same time, acquire new scrolling skills. Way to go. I love there are so many different things to do with scrolling. It keeps it really interesting to do,. Dick heppnerguy
  12. So many just sort of give up on spirals. I was the same way and then I realized that the people I see using them enjoy doing ones that are really challenging so I decided to try them again. It did not take too long to get a handle on them. The secret for me was to run my saw at half or more speed, progress at a steady pace while cutting, really important to let the blade do the cutting, and I always cut using the outer part of the blade (on the line I am cutting and the center of the blade in the waste area) to be on the line I am cutting. Continue your cut without hesitation, again slow and easy being guided by both of my hands, the one pushing ever so gentle that is guiding the direction of the intended cut. Hope this helps as it did not take much time to understand what I needed to do. Dick heppnerguy
  13. What a great piece, honoring those who have fought for others protection and freedoms. Dick heppnerguy
  14. You are one busy person. I love that you are doing it for your daughter's fund raising event at school. That makes scrolling really great in my eyes. Good for you. Dick heppnerguy
  15. You sure have been making these with a lot of variation and new ideas. They are really fun items to look at. Dick heppnerguy
  16. Your skills are so amazing. I always find myself in awe when I see one of your new projects. First time I have seen any dowels used in the making of a box. I immediately wondered about the dowels when I saw the photo of this box. It made me wonder about how you added that dark color as you did until I read you post. Interesting idea Dick heppnerguy
  17. I have enjoyed seeing your work with intarsia. You obviously enjoy doing it and you have come up with some really nice pieces in the process. I started my scrolling work with intarsia and did it for several years before finally changing to scrolling projects instead. The certainly are admired by almost everyone when the see them. Another fun piece, well done Dick heppnerguy
  18. quite attractive project. Well done too Dick heppnerguy
  19. That is what I am going to explore soon. I am hoping to find some that are 8 10 inches minimum. Thanks for the tips. Dick heppnerguy
  20. I certainly enjoy cut bamboo wood. I don't have any fuzzies from it and even though it appears to be quite dense it cuts very nicely. Dick heppnerguy
  21. This is not a ply but rather a solid wood. I have not seen any bamboo for sale as wood to buy except for flooring. Dick heppnerguy
  22. It could be. I do not remember what the name on the pattern was, but I have a hard time just remembering my own name some times Dick heppnerguy
  23. Thank you so much for the link. I do see several people who claim to either be shorted on their order or the pieces were cracked or gouged when received. The price is really good but I'm not sure if the size is enough for me. I probably will give it a shot. Again, thanks for the link. Dick heppnerguy
  24. me too
  25. This is a special pattern as it is one of JGR first patterns. As you probably know, she passed a few months ago. Dick heppnerguy
