    It is a little difficult to understand the pattern fully as there are a lot of small marks and I was not sure at some of it. I do not come near to the talent of Kris Mortinson but I gave it my best effort. Dick heppnerguy

    I am very familiar with this sign.. it is 45 miles to Heppner from HWY 84 where this sign is.. Did you see the Charlie Brown rock on your way down 84 by Arlington? Dick

    I have had some interesting time cutting this pattern. When I saw Kris Martinson's new sun Rider pattern I not only really enjoyed it but it also caught my eye because the area that is Sun Rider is seen, looks like the area of Arizona where I now live and so I mentioned in my comment on his post and he was so generous to send me a copy of his pattern and told me to go ahead and give it a try. There were a lot of things in the pattern I really did not understand how he was able to do them but I gave it my best shot and came out with one I am mostly satisfied with. I cut in from 1/4 BB Ply and mostly used a #1 Pegus spiral blade. A lot of the pattern parts are quite small and I had to use the drill bits I had to make the entry holes. It was a rather fun one to cut, and I liked the challenges it presented me, and the total time to complete this project was three hours. I wish to once again thank Kris for the pattern and allowing me to post it here also. Dick heppnerguy

    I sure have to agree with you on that. Being able to turn out such beautiful items with just a touch of a button is quite remarkable but seems to leave me to believe it would be a little difficult to have much of a sense of accomplishment. Just my thought on the matter Dick heppnerguy

    I do too. She is a very busy girl and never seems to stop with improvement project around her house. I will be waiting to see if she finally fines some shop time to do them Dick heppnerguy

    I have a grandson that had the oportunity to meet a WWl Veteran who had come to his grade school on Veterans day and talked with his class about his experience serving in the army. My grandson's interest in WWl really was sparked and he started to study about it and has become really knowlegable about it and told me that man was 104 years old at the time he came to the school. I had been looking at this pattern for quite some time as I thought the picture told a story without words. I told my grandson about it and said I would make him a piece with a picture of a dressed soldlier in uniform for him if he was interested. He became instantly excited and so I got it to him last week. Here is the results of my effort.

    WOW, great work as always. I had trouble with the painting of my snowmen but my family does not have anyone else, like you for instance, to compare my work with so they think I am good at what I do in my shop, so I let them live in their ignorance. Dick heppnerguy

    I did this in some recycled wood I had on hand. They all were approximately 1/2 inch thick. I ended up just gluing the finished and painted pieces together and after that I layed them out on 1/4 in BB Ply and drew around the project with a sharp pencil and sanded the backer board and glued the snowman on it. That made it match perfectly even if my cutting was off a tad. Way faster for me. Dick heppnerguy

    That was exactly what I did after I saw her little snowmen. It made them more fun to paint and compare as I finished them all. Dick heppnerguy

    It is so difficult to loose a family member or even a friend and in you case your sister was both to you. The plaque is so well thought out and I am sure a blessing to her family, immensely. Our prayers are for you and all the family and friends she left behind. Dick heppnerguy
