  1. They sure pop with that epoxy. Still have not taken the jump into trying it, myself. Looks great Dick heppnerguy
  2. I love it. I am turning 84 at the end of the month and I get up a 5:30 every morning to enjoy coffee and conversation with a few old guys. I said to my wife when person I used to work with was retired and meeting up with some old fellows for coffee, " I will NEVER do that." And now I am on my 5th year having coffee with 'the guys' Your sign says it all. Dick heppnerguy
  3. I really like this project. The work is done very nicely and the wood is outstanding. It is a real eye catcher. I have been off line, most of the time lately and this is the first time I have seen you here. So a belated "Welcome to the Village." I hope you are enjoying it here as I have for many years. Glad you are part of our family. Dick heppnerguy
  4. I was able to finish it as it is but not really impressed with it. It looks pretty acceptable hanging from the ceiling where it can not be viewed close up Dick heppnerguy
  5. It was not really my idea but my good neighbor friend gave me the idea and it worked for this aircraft. I knew it was going to be what I was going to try on this one. Dick
  6. I guess the struggle was worth the effort, because even though it is far from perfect I still stuck with it and got it finished well enough that when it is hung from the ceiling as it is going to be, one can not see all the flaws in it. Thank you for you nice comment Dick heppnerguy
  7. As you probably realize, I am not very happy with the results of this effort but at least I was able to complete it and that was something I was not sure of all the way through the effort. It is recognizable but I hoped it could be better than it turned out. It reminded me of when I struggled with cutting your pattern and was almost ready to throw in the towel and you saved me from giving up on my scrolling. The problems were here but your encouragement kept me doing what I love. Because of what you did for me at that time, I just fought my way through this project and never got to that same point of discouragement I was in then. Dick heppnerguy
  8. It was not particularly a fun project. It was more a stumble through it piece by piece. I was not sure I could make it happen. Dick heppnerguy
  9. You have those propellers in you fridge most likely. I made them by cutting off the bottoms of plastic water bottles. Hows that for recycling? Dick
  10. A great gift for the bird lovers. Your wife made a great project even nicer.. Congratulations to both you and your wife on a job well done Dick heppnerguy
  11. great idea. I love originality, yours is great Dick heppnerguy
  12. Nicely done. Great Idea. I bet it was well received at the legion Dick heppnerguy
  13. I have a friend who enjoys hanging the different airplanes I have made for him and was ready for another. He asked me to make him a P 38 from WWII. I looked for a good realistic wood pattern to cut and could not find one. So I looked up several photos of the real plane and pieced together, from the different views and found enough to get the angles I needed to make the model. Problem was, everyone had a different size so I had to resize all of them to be the same and make a temporary pattern and the try to get all the angle and slopes close enough to cut. It was a very difficult project for me without a pattern but I got one that will look OK hanging from the ceiling of his garage with the other planes I made. I already know it is a project I will never cut again as it was extremely time consuming to make it all come together. Dick heppnerguy
  14. Great cutting and finish work. I can see this one would be very much enjoyed by a lot of people. Good to see you back again. Dick heppnerguy
  15. On this one I used all spirals. I used the #1 and #3. I was going to use an inlaid frame but I was doing some other work at the time and through away one section of it wihtout realizing it and did not have any matching wood to finish it so I made this quicky instead. It looks better than no frame at all, I guess. Thanks for the nice words and compliments, I do appreciate them a lot. Dick heppnerguy
  16. great overall job on this project. What medium did you use to paint this? It really pops. Dick heppnerguy
  17. That is a really interesting pattern hard to go wrong on this one Dick heppnerguy
  18. thank you Paul.. I was pleased with the end results on this one. Dick
  19. After I was about to hang up my scrolling, and feeling unworthy to continue as I felt so much a failure cutting the 57 Chevy convertible, I have since learned to finally SLOW DOWN and thanks to you I am now enjoying tackling the complex fret and loving it. Dick heppnerguy
  20. good for you.. a little challenging but a very interesting and well made pattern indeed. Dick heppnerguy
  21. thanks.. I had no choice ones I saw this pattern. It was done way to well to pass up Dick heppnerguy
  22. That is what drew me to want to cut it.. great pattern Dick heppnerguy This one took me some time too. I have a couple of neighbor friends visiting Australia right now. They are sending many photos and sights from there Very beautiful country
  23. I really enjoy Russ Beard's pattern but have never cut one. I saw this one recently and had to give it a go. I am happy with the results and have plans to cut another of his projects soon. It is on 1/4 BB Ply. I made a quick frame as my shop time has been very short lately and wanted to get things finished that I had started. So this is the results. The photo, as usual did not turn out very well as this is not one of my better things I do. Often a lot of my photo are of the floor instead of the subject I am trying to take. Dick heppnerguy
  24. I also like Sam Custodio's patterns although I have not see his page for a long time. I was going to stop at his house and chat with him a few years back but he was off fishing when I was through his town. I always enjoy your patterns and your work. Nicely done once more Dick heppnerguy
  25. fun projects and your videos are always fun to view. Nicely done, as always Dick heppnerguy
