  1. gYou sure have found something you enjoy creating. I love all the wood spoons and your creativeness. Keep having fun and posting them. Dick heppnerguy
  2. Fun pattern. I have not seen this one. I have a grand daughter that is finishing her schooling to become an RN and I think I will cut one of these for her also. Love it, Thank you for the inspiration. Enjoying seeing your improvement with your scrolling. I have been watching you since you first came into The Village and you have come along way. Keep up the good work Dick heppnerguy
  3. Sports fan love these and with the personal names on them makes them even more desirable. Nice work Dick heppnerguy
  4. Some nice items to draw some attention to your booth. I hope you have enough cut to supply two sales as I am guessing you will most likely do well at the first sale. Dick heppnerguy
  5. very attractive item. I really like using a different color backer board on this. For some reason it never occurred to me to use a backer board on an ornament. A great idea and love it Dick heppnerguy
  6. That is the same reason I sell anything, is to cover the costs of wood, blades and other supplies for my scrolling. I used to push for sales but now I just post what I do and sometimes get a sale on an item. Dick heppnerguy
  7. I really like how you found a particular part that stood out to you. I often get some of the same feelings as I look at someone's projects. Dick heppnerguy
  8. Thank you for your kind comments. I like the looks of intarsia projects but I never seen to get the exact results I am hoping for Dick heppnerguy
  9. I enjoy the intarsia projects as far as the cutting goes but I seem to always have some trouble when it comes to the gluing, every time. Dick heppnerguy
  10. I thought it was rather cute too. I am OK with the results of this project but was hoping for a little better results. Dick heppnerguy
  11. When I first moved to Arizona I saw an owl almost every morning when I walked the neighborhood, but for the past couple of years I see nor here then no longer. I am not sure why that it but I really enjoyed them ask WHO I was as I walked by Dick heppnerguy
  12. Thank you so much for the generous evaluation of this project Dick heppnerguy
  13. Thank you. I was hoping to find the pattern and purchase it but but was unable to do so and I had to make me a pattern as best as I could so some of the detail was unavailable to me. I lost a good view of all parts and did the best I could to make a pattern. Dick heppnerguy
  14. Thank you so much. Not being able to find the pattern and making one from a photo, decreased the final project's quality as I was unable to see some of the details in the photo and had to wing it Dick heppnerguy
  15. I have been away from most of my intarsia making projects and decided to try and make a few of the patterns I have had around for awhile. In doing so I found a photo of this one somewhere on line and downloaded the photo and attempted to make a pattern from it and cut make it, as i sort of liked the little guy. Here is what I ended up with. The one thing I added to the wood to get what I wanted from it was the multiple little lines on the owls body by simply using a wood burning too to make them. I have never tried that before and thought it worked fairly well this time. Dick heppnerguy
  16. I love the patterns that take some time to cut while adding some challenges along the way. I may cut one for a Christmas gift for some one on my list too. Great job and nice finishing effort Dick heppnerguy
  17. the wood used certainly adds to the character of the entire project. Looks great Dick heppnerguy
  18. keep cutting and just enjoy your work as the rest of us do. Dick heppnerguy
  19. Marvelous work. I don't think anyone else uses you wonderful technique It is so unique to you Dick heppnerguy
  20. You are building quite a fun fleet of planes. Fun to watch as you post each new project Dick heppnerguy
  21. It should be an amazing project when you finish it. Holding my breath till you post the finally. Dick heppnerguy
  22. The cut is very well done but the framing really brings the eye to it. Great combination. Dick heppnerguy
  23. I agree with what you are saying. I have used this method before a couple of times so I do understand completely what you are telling me. when I am colorizing my paper pattern pieces this method is not doable. In the wreath pattern, I can see that as a good place to use that method indeed. Thank you for your input, and OH I am sure glad you are still on The Village as you and I go back some time on here together. I always enjoyed our conversations and fun times then Dick heppnerguy
  24. The wreath is very nicely done. As you probably know by now I am trying to learn to colorize some of my scrolled items and I probably would have tried to add a couple of shades of green to the leave that I hoped would project the idea that light was shinning on them because if an item is seen in real life and is one solid color and a little shadow or additional light is upon it, it will appear to be a lighter or darker in the areas of the light shinning on them or darker where the shadow falls on the item in view. A good chance, do to my lack of talent in painting, I would most likely mess the entire project up but I guarantee I would continue to try and get it right the next time I attempted to bring out the natural colors. The other thing I would have attempted to color a little differently than you did was I would have added a different color to the outline of the bells so they would have stood out from the outline of the leaves in an attempt to make the bells sort of stand out from the leaves more. Guess what? I bet I would probably end up not liking my results and then i would try to do it a little different the next time and hope to some day down the line finally understand how to achieve how to do it correctly to my personal liking. Maybe i will never get there, but I will probably keep trying anyway. Fortunately for you, you followed your wife's direction and did not have to go what I am going through with trying to change what is normally the right way to do it. I like your project a lot, I probably would be unhappy trying to do it the way I really want it to come out Dick heppnerguy
