  2. Thank you, I sincerely appreciate your comment Dick heppnerguy
  3. I am not very happy but maybe just maybe, I am starting to understand this a little better Dick heppnerguy
  4. I am not near what I am in hopes to understand but at least I am making an effort on colorizing so some day, perhaps, I can figure this thing out. I thank you for your nice encouragement though Dick heppnerguy
  5. Thank you Marg for the encouragement. I have to say I am not very pleased with my effort at colorizing my projects, but at least I have not totally given up on it yet Dick heppnerguy
  6. Thank you for the nice comment. Not really very wild about it, personally but still working on colorizing some of my products so I thought I would cut this one and give it a try Dick heppnerguy
  7. I keep trying to learn colorizing techniques in hopes that some day I may begin to 'get it'. Only time will tell. Dick heppnerguy
  8. you are going to town with making these. You will be putting smiles on a lot of Australian people's faces with these Dick heppnerguy
  9. What a fun idea. I especially like how you added your cat that brought a lot more interest in the project Dick heppnerguy
  10. A really wonderfully made project. The colorizing is fabulous. i am hoping some day to be able to finally do something somewhat close to your talents but probably I will not achieve that but it certainly gives me something to shoot for. Dick heppnerguy
  11. Very nicely done. One to hang on the front room wall and be very proud of. Dick heppnerguy
  12. A really cool setting for all the flags. I love the respect all the united countries are given there. That makes a lot of sense to me. Dick heppnerguy
  13. I really do not have anyone particular in mind for it but it will make for a fun addition on my shop wall when someone comes in to see what I am doing Dick heppnerguy
  14. Yes a lot of people might as it a really cute pattern Dick heppnerguy
  15. it was a sheet with a solid core and a layer of birch on the front and rear of the sheet. It was a little less money then the BB Ply so I thought I would give it a try. I used to use a lot of solid core wood with a selection of color and I have been looking for more of it and thought this is just the ticket but the surface of the outer layer is so thin that the back side tears away as I drill or cut it. Not all of it but enough that I will not purchase it again. Not even sure what they called it. I got one sheet also with a black walnut surface. Dick heppnerguy
  16. well it is a start but I am hoping to do a lot better in the future. Time will tell, I guess. Dick heppnerguy
  17. I agree but I also think that if one takes the time to colorize some of their projects on a regular basis then perhaps one could sort of catch on to how they are done and get a little better with effort also. That is what i am trying to accomplish now Dick heppnerguy
  18. I almost did not see this months projects but I wanted to get on it anyway, even though I am barely making the deadline. I posted this one in bragging post but I enjoyed doing it so I thought I would go ahead and re-post it here. It has been a while since I had made any intarsia so here again is my beaver I did this month Dick heppnerguy
  19. Fun personal history. I love it when memories have so much meaning that it stays with you forever, like this one, and one can share that memory for others to also injoy. Thanks for posting Dick heppnerguy
  20. Perfect as is all of your projects. Beautifully cut and painted. There are quite a bit of Northwest Native American art in Northern Washington and Southwestern Canada. I personally enjoy it too but have yet to cut any Dick heppnerguy
  21. Nicely done as are all your Projects. Thanks for posting them, they look great Dick heppnerguy
  22. I think if it were mine, and I do not see the miss cut pieces, I would put another coat of paint over the previous ones and I bet you would like it a whole lot better and some of the 'flawed areas' would almost magically disappear. Dick heppnerguy
  23. I know I have a long way to go to get where I really wish to be or I would be happy with it and I am not....at least not now. Thank you for the vote of confidence though. I do appreciate that a lot Dick heppnerguy
  24. Thank you very much for you suggestion. I have this exact idea in mind but have not found and available, probably because I just do not know where to look to find them. Can you send me a link where I might find an example and then I should be able to go from there. Love you idea. Dick heppnerguy
  25. I did nothing with the back side as I only cut it to see what the outcome my be. I then hung it in a window to see how it would look there and that was all I was interested in at the time. Now you have sparked further interest in possibly doing a little more with this. I am really not very interested in making and installing any backer board as I like the way the light works with the project hanging in the window. I could however make one later with a backer board as a possible project for sale with a little twist to it. Thank you so much for your suggestions. They are really helpful to me. I am not sure about your suggestion about looking up pictures of real subjects for ideas on coloring. Can you send me a link of one so I understand what you are suggesting? Dick heppnerguy
