  1. appreciate your nice comment. I hope to do a lot more of this and be able to do a lot better with practice. Dick heppnerguy
  2. Thank you Marg for the kind remarks Dick heppnerguy
  3. My wife and I just took a trip to Ajo and Why to visit them again. Ajo is a rather beautiful and interesting town. If you still was living here you have me wanting to make a visit there to meet you and see your work. I have met and make several friends here in The Village by making the effort to do so. 4. I sure understand your possition on traveling and staying for the winter here, or anyway for that matter. I too could not afford to do that. A lot of Canadians have a second house here but now the housing has gotten expensive along with everything else. I hope others can continual to come down for the winter, as I have several good Canadian friends here in the winter and I would hate to see that change. Dick heppnerguy
  5. Thank you for the nice comment. It is the start of ' more effort in my projects, in the future Dick heppnerguy
  6. After living here for 6 years, one understands the difference between a couple of degrees over 100 degrees things turn intolerable for humans. So comparing 104 to above that and often 115 to over 120, then 104 seems like a piece of cake, so to speak. 90's are still quite warm but don't feel really hot any more. So your brother-in- law speaks the truth. Dick heppnerguy
  7. The temperature in the shop when I do not have my mini split AC on is about 108 degrees and not much fun to work in. As far as a mister goes, I believe the misting would not be very beneficial in the shop as it would be putting way too much moistener into the air and would probably cause the stored wood to warp. But one idea that would work would be to take a Tshirt and get it really wet and then wring it out by hand and put it on,wet. Then turn a fan on yourself and it would keep you cool for about an hour. I just have not tried it yet but I know it would help immensely. You are very right about drinking a lot of water, which I am not very good about at any time. Dick heppnerguy
  8. I know. It is supposed to be a little cooler in a couple of days. I do have a new project started, using a technique I have never tried before. I do not think the first attempt is going to work out all that well but usually when I try something new, it takes time to fine tune it so that it comes out as I want it to. Dick heppnerguy
  9. It has been over 110 up to 117 degrees here in Southern Arizona and way too hot for my liking in the shop so I have not worked out in it for over a month. I had this project started but never got back to it until this week when I decided to buck up and get it done. So here is my little project completed. I decided to try some carving with it, as usually I just cut and shape this kind of projects. I hope to make more efforts with this method and improve a lot as I go. Dick heppnerguy

  12. They came out quite nice. I think if I had choose one of your colors to use on the one I did for my wife, she probably would have liked it better. I guess I will just have to cut her another one, some day Dick heppnerguy

  20. I really enjoy those fret clocks and have made several but find the problem with them is the space they take up and people really are not interested much in them for themselves, so I decided not to bother making them any longer also. Nice work and they look marvelous. Thanks for posting. Dick heppnerguy

  24. good start on the Christmas season. I love fret patterns and this is no exception Dick heppnerguy
  25. really cute idea. I think if I were to copy your idea the thing I would try to do different would be to try to figure out how to extent the port where the pencil goes in....to the back of the car and try to incorporate the port to look like an exhaust pipe. I like your idea though. Dick heppnerguy
