  10. Welcome TO THE VILLAGE. We are always happy when someone joins our world wide family. I started my using my scroll saw to make intarsia projects. I could not believe anyone could make those beautiful projects at all. I made a simple pattern and tried to see if I had a chance to achieve a project. I had to cut my first piece on a band saw and to my wonderment I found even I could do one. That led my to buy my first scroll saw and I continued to make intarsia items for several years. I strayed away from scrolling because I thought scrolling was cutting outlines of an animal or a heart or something like that, when I came across a heart shaped box that looked like it was woven. That caught my attention and I looked up the pattern on Steve Good's page and saw that it not only was possible but also not that difficult. I switched my interests to mainly scrolling, as I was able to cut an item in one day and I was getting tired of spending 4 or 5 days on an intarsia item. So, we sort of have something in common, I'd say. So from Southern Arizona, I want to add that I hope you respond to other's posts and log on often so all of us can get to know you better Dick heppnerguy
  11. It turned out 'top notch', as i expected it would. I couldn't even understand what you had in mind as a way of cutting it and putting the many ideas you had for it, all together. Now I understand, as least, what you had in mind for it. Stunning to say the least. Dick heppnerguy
  12. your spoon sure came out well. It would be fun to take it out of the drawer and use it when you have guests and see the look on their faces when they look at your spoon for the first time and wonder where you got such a fancy wooden spoon Dick heppnerguy
  13. Three fun and delightful projects. Well done. The first one tells sort of a story in itself. Dick heppnerguy
  14. I made a couple of these years ago and still have them in my front room with a photo of my wife's Father and the other one has my wife's Mother in them. I printed the photos so they took on the old photo look. I love this pattern. Nice job on it Dick heppnerguy

    Hi ya.

welcome back. I have had the problem logging in here and I texted to Travis and he got me back on board. Glad you found your way back. I am happy you sent the question as I have been struggling to paint some of my BB Ply to and always end up disappointed with my efforts. Now I know why because of you. Thank you for your help. Dick heppnerguy
  20. this is a super interesting and beautiful project. I love your idea of carving the outsides of the project subject. I am going to have to give that a try soon. Thanks for sharing your wonderful project Dick heppnerguy
  21. These are a couple super heroes of one of my great grandson's that I made for him for Christmas presents. It is a lot of fun to see his face when he opens them, even though he has just turned 3 years old a month ago.. Dick heppnerguy
  22. my goto blade also Dick heppnerguy
  23. And the biggest remedy for blade slippage is as simple as changing the inserts on all the clamp holders as soon as one starts getting the slippage problem. Most people use the sanding method to keep the blade from slipping but after a short time it begins to happen again. Then it is tightening the thumb screw more along with sanding. Pretty soon, it is "the stupid saw I have." Changing the inserts on the clamps as soon as the slippage start, (approximately every six months), is a much better way to remedy this problem and prevents the need to replace the clamps themselves. You will find this method should result in the same small amount of pressure needed to hold the blade without slippage. Dick heppnerguy
  24. Nicely done. I was looking at that pattern yesterday and wondering when I was going to get around to try and cut it. Beautiful project Dick heppnerguy
  25. Fun little projects. I will have to go back and look at those once again, as I really never paid any attention to them and they just might be something my great grandchildren might fine fun to have Dick heppnerguy
