  1. Drinking enough water is something I do not do very well but I am trying to improve on it. Takes time to make new habits, I quess. Dick heppnerguy
  2. not sure how successful I will get with my painting. I do have several air brushes but really have not taken the time to understand them. I put way too many things off in my old age so I really do not have any valid complaints. Dick heppnerguy
  3. Thanks Paul. It does look like we may have a couple of days that will not be in the triple digits later this week. I have a request pattern I will try to get knocked out too. I just made the pattern for it today and I just might start it tomorrow instead of doing my normal 5:30 am walk and coffee with the local guys. If I get into the shop soon enough and the night time tempts get below 87 degrees during the night. Hope to chat with you soon and see how things are going at your house Dick heppnerguy
  4. actually, do to the extreme record braking heat here in Southern Arizona..I choose to not make a frame for this one and just use the pattern's 'kind of' frame instead. However I do agree on using a frame and as far as painting goes, I told my wife I wish I had the talent to paint but everything I try to paint, at least for the most part, I wish I had not tried as I most often become very discouraged with the outcome. That said, I did purchase some paints that I am anxious to try and see if I can master it enough to begin to be happy with the results. So I have to agree with all you said but I hope you will begin to see some of what you are talking about in the very near future. Thanks for your hints. I love to see your work as the frames and painting are done so well. I certainly agree that color when done properly add a tremendous amount of interest and beauty to any project, if done well Dick heppnerguy
  5. It has been record breaking heat here and today and yesterday are no exception. It is still in the 100 plus teens here. we are supposed to find some relief in about 2 more days. I can't wait. I have another request for a new project and I need to be able to work in my shop as it is for a wedding taking place this soon. I found this pattern on a paper cutting page of the computer and knew when I saw it that i just had to cut it. this is how it came out. My wife took it off the wall the second day it was finished and gave it to our granddaughter who was at our house helping my wife wife her meds and doctor appointment coming up in a few days. 6. Very nice indeed. I can't imagine what it would be like to walk into your house and see all the portraits and other projects you have done Dick heppnerguy
  7. those are very attractive pieces. Nicely done. Dick heppnerguy
  8. They both look very special. Nice fret work cutting. Dick heppnerguy
  9. You always do such nice work. It is a continual pleasure to see anything you post, as it is always remarkable. Dick heppnerguy
  10. I haven't seen one of this type of projects for awhile. They are such a fun item. I have never attempted one of them before, but I always find them extremely interesting. You did another splendid job, as usual Dick heppnerguy
  11. I like the project and the wood you used for it. I do not think I would have chosen it for my project if I was cutting it, but live and learn, I always say. Dick heppnerguy
  12. that is another beautiful and challenging pattern. Great work, once again Dick heppnerguy
  13. so cute. I love these little guys. Great work. Nice to have a talented wife to help you with your projects Dick heppnerguy
  14. Kevin, glad you are back with us. Some things take a little time. Over working one self on a come back, can result in giving up. I know you are not a person that gives up souse your wisdom and progress slowly. You'll get there again, but maybe not tomorrow Dick heppnerguy
  15. Take it easy on yourself and try using a spiral blade on these fret projects. Sure make it a lot less stressful when you do. Great job on your piece. all the detail is there. Dick heppnerguy
  16. Iove this piece. I hope I make this one too. You did a wonderful job, it is amazing Dick heppnerguy
  17. Nicely done. It sure looks great, especially the effect the lights gives it. It would be fun to walk into a room with this piece all lit up and grabbing your attention Dick heppnerguy
  18. wow....60 years ago? I can't believe how fast time moves. I remember that day so well, but I couldn't tell you what I watched on tv yesterday. Nice project. Thanks for posting it. Dick heppnerguy
  19. When I got my first batch of Pegas blades I found them to be way too aggressive for me and did not use them for awhile. After some time I tried them again and started to enjoy them more and more. The last two projects I cut were entirely cut with Pegas #1 spiral blades and I think they just might end up being my 'go to' blade for most of my fret cutting. I do not experience the breaking of these blades on my 30 inch Excalibur saw. I love those blades now Dick heppnerguy
  20. We do not have Cardinals here but we have a few different birds like Roadrunners for one. I go to coffee every morning with some friends that live in our neighborhood and the guy feeds the ducks, doves, quail and several other bread of birds. Usually has about 200 birds a day. When I was in Montana a few months ago, they had a lot of wild turkeys there. One day a guy had over 100 of them in his yard at one time. Dick heppnerguy
  21. well you have me fooled as it always is so amazing. I can't find anything but perfection in everything you do. I makes me understand that I too can do a lot better if I just take the time and make the effort. I guess I am just a little bit on the lazy side. Dick heppnerguy
  22. It is good when one can keep the temperature in their shops in a workable temperature, for sure. Thank you for the nice comment on my work Dick heppnerguy
  23. fun project. I am planning on more planes in the near future, if this heat decides to give me a break to do so. War planes are so interesting and actually fun to make Dick heppnerguy
  24. Another great master piece by you. Love it Dick heppnerguy
  25. Sanding out my cuttings is something I will concentrate on in the next attempts. I just ran this one through the inexpensive sanding mop I have. I helped a little bit. I really do not like to spend too much time on my projects so I just sort of do things until my mind tells me, "That's good enough", then I let it rest. That is why I know I am just a mediocre scroller at best. It might be just laziness on my part. You, on the other hand, are a very precise and detailed person and hence an artist instead of just a hobbist like me. That is the reason I love looking at your work and every post you make.
